Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 2-6-2017

Ha … !

I don’t know if I ever told you, but I live in Brentwood.   It’s a small town in Essex: best know for it’s Secret Nuclear Bunker, being the location for Welcome to Essex, and home to The Only Way Is Essex*.

The impression I get?   Is that most residents think The Only Way Is Essex is a big pile of poo, whose cast members deserve shooting: but there you go.

Local government services are provided — pay attention, here — by Brentwood Borough Council.   Others are offered by Essex County Council.

At any rate?   Brentwood’s got its own branch of Sainsburys: which is one of the town’s bigger employers.

One that’s having working done.

And one that, according to the signs up in Sainsburys?

Has had that work reviewed by Brentwood County Council.

Someone’s made a mix up.

And I’m not the only one to notice it.

If you’re one of the people that has … ?

Can I ask you a question?

If you’re one of the people who has noticed, would you mind emailing them, to let them know?

You’ll need to contact them by emailing propertycommunications@sainsburys.co.uk,  or Janet.Morrow@sainsburys.co.uk.

Well …

Someone’s got to tell them who they get their alcohol license from …

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with both scoring ten out of ten.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video …

Q1) June 2nd, 1919, saw Anarchists set off bombs across the USA.   How many bombs?
Q2) Which jockey celebrated his seventh Derby victory on 2nd June, 1976?
Q3) The first papal visit to a communist country took place on 2nd June, 1979.   Which pope made the visit?
Q4) The UK’s first major televised event took place: on 2nd June, 1953.   Whose coronation was it?
Q5) Finally … The Surveyor 1, first US probe to land on the Moon, did so on 2nd June of which year?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q4) Her initial film contract started in 1946.   Who for: RKO, Paramount or Fox?

Q10) Finally … What was the name of the last film Monroe completed?
I’ll leave you with a thought …
“I didn’t create Alf Garnett. Society created him. I just reported him. I’m a grass.”
Johnny Speight, 2 June 1920 – 5 July 1998.
And, as it’s Tony Hadley’s birthday, this tune …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Have a good day.

*        I’m fairly left wing.   I just thinking they need slapping …

†        Olga?   Would you mind laughing at Sainsburys for me?   Cheers!   :D

‡        Oh, just listening to the Today programme, Debbi: Anarchy in the UK’s just had a play!   At ANY rate … I (sort of) agree with you, about Marilyn: I’m not sure I could tell you much about her, beyond what I’ve picked up writing these.   Well … apart from the fact her, John Belushi and Natalie Wood, shared a coroner: Thomas Noguchi^.   I do think her death was a tragedy: it meant we never got to see what more she was capable of.

^        Noguchi also worked on Natalie Woods’ death: which is still mysterious, even today.   And Woods’ last film, Brainstorm?   A fascinating piece.

Another one to collect for the next book of wrong/funny/weird signs... So much so for people moaning about a small typo in a book.
Reading you comment about Natalie Wood, I didn't know about the coroner. Yes, indeed a very mysterious one.
