Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 23-6-2017

Ye gods, but I’m not well … !

OK, I’m not seriously badly off.

Things could be seriously worse.

But, right now?

I’m felling rather grotty: after my IBS flared up, at work.

Cramps, trots, slightly pained expressed, what have you …

All that …

All that … combined with a lack of sleep … ?

Well, I’m not having a good time.

~≈ß≈~

But let’s move on, shall we?   Before my bowels do!

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga* and Debbi† putting in their answers:  with Debbi scoring ten out of ten, with Olga on nine.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video …

Q1) 23rd June, 2016, saw the UK vote to leave what?
Q2) 23rd June, 2014, saw the last chemical weapon apparently shipped out of which country: Iran, Syria or Jordan?
Q3) The Antarctic Treaty went into force: on 23rd June, 1961.   The Treaty banned what, on the continent: military activity, scientific research or film crews?
Q4) Which Scottish battle took place: on 23rd June, 1314?
Q5) Finally … 23rd June, 1969, saw IBM spin off what, from its hardware business?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1) 22nd June saw the opening of the ‘Charing Cross, Euston and Hampstead Railway’.   In which year: 1906, 1907 or 1908?
A1) 1907.
Q2) The line was known as the what tube: Hampstead, Highgate or Haringey?
A2) The Hampstead Tube.
Q3) The line’s most northerly station — at the time of opening — was where: Edgware, Golders Green or Archway?
Q4) That station was the terminus on the north-west branch.   The north-east branch terminated where: Edgware, Golders Green or Archway?
A4) Archway.
Q5) What — when the line opened — was the line’s most southerly station: Leicester Square, Charing Cross or Embankment?
A5) Charing Cross.   Which shouldn’t be that hard, when you look at the name of the line!
Q6) Building the route proved controversial, as it went under where: Kensington Gardens, Hampstead Heath or Clapham Common?
Q7) An extension to the line was opened in 1926.   This meant its most southerly station was where: Embankment, Waterloo or Kennington?
Q8) The line had a station called Tottenham Court Road.   That station is now called what?
Q9) I’m Sorry, I Haven’t a Clue features a game named after one of the line’s stations.   Which station: Camden Town, Mornington Crescent or Warren Street?
Q10) Finally … the line is now part of which London Underground line: the Piccadilly Line, the Northern Line or the Hammersmith and City Line?
A10) The Northern Line.
Here’s a tune …

And a thought …
“A man provided with paper, pencil, and rubber, and subject to strict discipline, is in effect a universal machine.”
Alan Turing, 23 June 1912 – 7 June 1954.
Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

You have a good day!

I’m going back to bed!

*        Actually, I’ve just Tweeted the link for you, Olga: that looks like a very worthwhile project …

†        You know, there’s a lot of those around, Debbi.   I think people keep calling them Floppotrons … !

‡        As we’ve mentioned it …

Thanks, Paul. I hope you feel better soon. I've spent most of the morning grading and here it is a holiday tomorrow (St John's) and there are celebrations tonight so not much time for anything.
Thanks for sharing the post. I'll try and catch up tomorrow.
Take care.
