Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 5th February, 2019

5th February, 2019.

Remember, a few days ago, that I got that ever-so-slightly odd call: apparently from BT?

And that I’d had trouble resetting my password from BT’s end: meaning I couldn’t access they’re recruitment site.

I actually managed to sort THAT out.

Partly by checking my passwords … and partly by deleting unused passwords from my Keychain.

And get back onto BT’s recruitment site as a result.

Filling in a form for a job, as a result.

I had a missed called, yesterday.

And a voice mail.

They’d like to talk to me about the position …

Well, finally … !

~≈§≈~

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga*, Badwolf†, and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with Debbi on five out of five, and Badwolf and Olga on four.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video …

Q1) 5th February, 1807, was one of the last sightings of the HMS Blenheim and the HMS Java.   The two ships were last seen on the coast of Rodrigues.   Rodrigues is part of which nation?
Q2) The 68th Caudillo de España was named on 5th February, 1939.   Who was he?
Q3) WW2 era sweet rationing ended in the UK: on 5th February of which year?
Q4) 5th February, 1919, saw the birth of Aaron Chwatt.   What was his strange name?
Q5) 5th February, 1940, saw the birth of artist, Hans Ruedi Giger.   He was hired to work on an early film version of Dune.   By which cult director?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1) 4th February is World Cancer Day.   It was first marked in which year?
A1) 2011.
Q2) The disease itself involves abnormal cell what: growth, function or secretion?
A2) Growth.
Q3) A 2011 survey found 1 in 10 of cancers in men, and 1 in 33 in woman, were caused by their intake of what: heroin, alcohol or tobacco?
A3) Alchohol.
Q4) Tobacco is said to cause one in five of all cancer deaths.   It, and other cancer causing chemicals, are known as what … ?
Q5) Finally … ?   What’s the branch of medicine that deals with cancer?
A5) Oncology.
Here’s a thought …
“The critical ingredient is getting off your butt and doing something. It’s as simple as that. ”
Nolan Bushnell, founder of Atari, born February 5, 1943.
And a song …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s airbrush themed, Teaser.

Have a good day.

*        Turns out it is, Olga^: I’ve checked a couple of places, and they’re rather … steep, on my money.   Still, my family’s agreed to help: which helps!   (Sounds like BT’s relented, too.)

†        Morning, @Badwolf^!   Hope the World Cancer set was interesting …

‡        It’s a complicated subject, I know that much, Debbi^ …

^        Did I mention I caught 2001: A Space Odyssey, last night?   It still looks good.
