Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 26th January 2026.

26th January, 2026.

Right … I’m officially up, about … and will be off to my weight management class, later on.

Hopefully?

I will have lost a little weight: losing a kilo, last week, has made me optimistic.

Here’s hoping!

~≈⚖️≈~

I’m on Facebook: amongst others.

But?

Facebook — and YouTube — are where I really notice adverts.

Including ones for Oh My Gloss hair serum.

Why I’m getting them?

I don’t know.

I’m going bald: so I’m not exactly one of the target audience.

But what gets me?

Is that the adverts I get emphasise the “genuine, Australian ingredients”: without getting more specific about what the ingredients are.

I’m assuming nothing.

But?

I’m wondering if those ingredients include dead wombat, squashed kangaroo, or koala parts.

You have to ask, don’t you … ?

~≈🐨≈~

Let’s move on.

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Mum*, Olga† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with everyone scoring five out of five.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video.

Q1)        Michigan was admitted to the USA on 26th January.   Of which year of the 1830s?

Q2)        Protestors stormed the Red Fort on 26th January, 2021.   Protests, and Fort, were where: New Delhi, Mumbai or Kolkata?

Q3)        26th January is the UN sponsored International Day of Clean … what?

Q4)        Maria von Trapp was born on 26th January, 1905.   Who played Maria, in 1965’s The Sound of Music?

Q5)        Finally … ?   Roger Vadim was born on 26th January, 1928.   Vadim’s And God Created Woman starred his then wife.   Who was she?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1)        25th January is Tatiana Day.   Where: Russia, China or the USA?
A1)        Russia.

Q2)        Elektra debuted on 24th January, 1909.   Who wrote Elektra: Johann Strauss the Younger, Richard Strauss or Gustav Mahler?
A2)        Richard Strauss.

Q3)        The coup that deposed Milton Obote, occurred on 25th January, 1971.   Who led that coup?
A3)        The Last King of Scotland, himself, Idi Amin.

Q4)        Robert Burns is celebrated on 25th January.   What’s traditionally eaten on the night: steak, haggis or deep fried battered Mars Bars?
A4)        Haggis.

Q5)        Finally … ?   Ariana DeBose was born on 25th January, 1991.   She played Anita in which Steven Spielberg movie?
A5)        West Side Story.   (Doc, in Spielberg’s version, was played by none other than Rita Morena: the original Anita.   This scene is especially powerful.)
Here’s a thought …
“I have a tendency to enjoy what I am doing and to do what I enjoy.”
Roger Vadim, 26 January 1928 – 11 February 2000.
And a Lucinda Williams song …

The next ten question set is on 4th February: it’s about the Aldous Huxley novel, Brave New World.

Your comments, and today’s answers, will be published in tomorrow’s Teaser.

AI is avoided when writing these questions.

Answers are as accurate as possible: at the time of writing.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        Hello, Mum!   (Did you know Rita Morena, Anita in the original film, was in the Spielberg version?   She’s the little old lady who runs the chemist.)

Well … so long as the Spanish version can be song to the same tune, Olga … !
My phone handles the stick automatically: so long as I remember to turn on the OTG thing, in Settings.   Mine’s a Lexar: and they usually put a Mac app on the thing, one that’s supposed to handle copying things over.   I usually get rid of them: they don’t do anything I can’t do with Drag and Drop …

Oh, My pleasure, Debbi!   (Oh, it helps to format these things in Master Boot Record and ExFAT, if you get a stick.   It helps if you need to give stuff to people using OtherOS™️.)
