To let me know the local Lib-dems had put up a post about the amount of shops closing in town.
On top of that … ?
I’ve just heard from both Kevin D and Movie Night Adrian that there’s a rumour — rumour, I should stress, on behalf of all three of us — that the local branch of Argos is to close down.
To quote the Kate Bush song, The Dreaming … ?
“Bang goes ANOTHER kanga, on the bonnet of the van”.
With the usual high pitch wails*, of course …
* Which is what I was doing, after having a browse through Brentwood Council’s website: there’s a section on the High Street, complete with a line that claims Brentwood High Street’s bus stop’s are enhanced with “real-time information”.
