Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 6th January, 2020

6th January, 2020.

Right at the moment … ?

I’m feeling mildly grateful.

As the last bit’s of Christmas — copies of the collected Leopard from Lime Street Stories — were delivered.

At five to seven.

In the evening.

Just in time to avoid spoiling my viewing.

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga* and Debbi† putting in their answers: with both scoring five out of five.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video …

Q1) 6th January, 1967, saw the birth of composer, A. R. Rahman.   He’s composed the score for which 2020 English language film?
Q2) 6th January, 1955, saw the birth of Rowan Atkinson.   What was the name of the first series he appeared in … ?
Q3) 6th January, 1946, saw the first general election held in which country?
Q4) The first airline to offer a Round-the-world ticket did so on 6th January, 1947.   Which airline was it?
Q5) Finally … ?   President Zviad Gamsakhurdia fled his country: as a result of a military coup that ended on 6th January, 1992.   What was that country?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1) 5th January is Twelfth Night.   It’s also know as the night before which ‘E’?
A1) Epiphany.
Q2) In many countries, it’s considered unlucky to leave what up, past Twelfth Night: Christmas Decorations, lamp shades or curtains?
Q3) Which Drury Lane theatre gives a cake to its acting company on Twelfth Night?
A3) The Theatre Royal, Drury Lane.
Q4) Old Twelfth Night is one which date in January?
A4) The 17th.
Q5) Twelfth Night, or What You Will was written by whom?
Here’s a thought …
“All jokes about religion cause offence, so it's pointless apologising for them.”
Rowan Atkinson, born 6 January 1955.
And a song …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Have a good day.

*        How DID the parade, Olga‡?   I had this sudden mental image of you, a bag of boiled sweets, and a catapult, yesterday!   Either way, it sounds one hell of a fun time.   Hmmm … Diables … dancing devils, yes?   It sounds vaguely like the old Austrian Krampus parades.   As for Dr Who … ? I’m glad that delivery turned up when out did!

†        Wild Bill Shakespeare?   Oh dear, Debbi‡ … !   At ANY rate … Have you caught Dr Who, yet?

‡        Bloody hell, someone hit the dislike button on my video review!   Ok, it’s nice to get a reaction, but even so!

Q1) Bombay Dreams (?). I’m not sure. Le Musk is also in English but still in post-production and he’s directed it as well, so I’m not sure…
Q2) Blackadder
Q3) Vietnam
Q4) Pan American Airlines
Q5) Georgia
It was good fun, although there seems to be more and more people every year, and I ended up with a bad shoulder and neck from holding and handing out sweets. The catapult is quite a good idea to throw the candy to the people on the balconies as well.
