The Daily Teaser — 12-9-2015

You know, I have to admit to being a touch … tired.

After all, I was working until 12:30, last night.

It’s left me feeling a touch …

Well, yes, tired!

Especially as I’m back in at 12:30, today.

Which I know makes me sound like a hinging pom, but there you go.   Hinging?   Whinging … !

At ANY rate, last night … ?

At any rate, and quite strangely, last night was a fun evening: certainly from where I’m sitting.

Just don’t ask about happy bunny jumps …

~≈®≈~

But let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Michelle, Mr Strict and Debbi* putting in their answers: with all three scoring five out of five.   It also saw Olga† putting in a hello …

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video …

Q1) 12th September, 490 BC, is the traditionally accepted date of the Battle of Marathon.   The site of the battle — the Plain of Marathon — is in which modern, European nation?
Q2) 12th September, 191, saw Adolf Hitler join what later became the Nazi Party.   What was it called, when he joined?
Q3) Southern Rhodesia was annexed by the UK: on the 12th September, 1923.   What is Southern Rhodesia now called?
Q4) The signing of the Treaty on the Final Settlement With Respect to Germany took place, on the 12th September, 1990: allowing for German reunification.   This was signed between East Germany, West Germany: and the four powers that occupied the country after WW2.   Name one of those four powers.
Q5) Finally … The killer of model, Reeva Steenkamp, was found guilty: on 12th September, 2014.   Which notable athlete killed her?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …
Q1) 11th September, 2007, saw the testing of the most powerful conventional bomb ever made: known as the ‘Father of All Bombs.’   Which country built and tested it?
A1) Russia.
Q2) 11th September, 1978, saw the death of Bulgarian dissident, Georgi Markov.   After he’d been stabbed with a poisoned what?
A2) Umbrella.
Q3) 11th September, 1997, saw Scotland hold a referendum, on what: independence, a devolved parliament or higher taxes?
Q4) 11th September, 1988, saw a massacre at the Saint Jean Bosco church: in Port-au-Prince.   Church — and city — are in which island nation?
A4) Haiti.
Q5) Finally … The Mars Global Surveyor reached its destination: on 11th September, 1998.   Where WAS that destination?
A5) Mars.   Obviously …
I’ll leave you with this thought …
“The French are true romantics.   They feel the only difference between a man of forty and one of seventy is thirty years of experience.”
Maurice Chevalier, September 12, 1888 – January 1, 1972.
And this tune …

Have a good day …

*        Oh, that’s a though, Debbi, I’ve found a piece from the Radio Times that may interest you …
