Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 22-1-2019: LeGuin, again …

22nd January, 2019.

Yep: I really think I overdid the cooking oil, last night.

And am definitely feeling the results.

For those of you who don’t know?

I get infrequent doses of Irritable Bowel Syndrome.   That occasionally kicks of if I get stressed … or eat too much fatty food.

I’ll end up with stomach cramps …

And sat on the loo for quite some time …

~≈§≈~

Of course, what doesn’t help … ?

Is my toilet …

Frankly?   The flush went west on Sunday.

So, of course I’ve reported it on Monday, when the office opened: and been bucket flushing ever since.

The plumber who’ll fix it … ?

Get’s here on the 30th of January.

That’s the soonest the office could get him down to me.

Oy … vey … !

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga*, Badwolf† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with all three scoring five out of five.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video …

Q1) 22nd January, 2018, saw the death of Ursula K. LeGuin.   What did the K stand for … ?
Q2) She wrote five novels and a short story collection: set in which fantasy world?
Q3) Her 1971 novel, The Lathe of Heaven, has a central character who can alter reality with his what … ?
Q4) Her Hainish novels were science fictions stories.   About which species: horses, humanity or the T’kong?
Q5) Finally … LeGuin was influenced by which Chinese belief system?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1) The first Dáil Éireann opened on 21st January, 1919.   It’s now the lower house of which country’s legislature?
A1) Ireland’s.   (The first woman MP to take her seat was Nancy Astor: in November 1919.   She wasn’t the UK’s first female MP.   That was Constance Markievicz, elected to Westminster in December, 1918s.   Constance was a member of Sinn Féin: and, like Sinn Féin MPs ever since, refused to take her seat: and was also a member of this First Dáil.)
Q2) It met in the Mansion House in which city?
A2) Dublin.
Q3) That first Dáil approved its country’s Declaration of Independence.   From where?
A3) The UK.
Q4) It also approved the country’s provisional what: constitution, voting system or currency?
A4) Provisional Constitution.
Q5) Finally … Dáil Éireann translates in to English as … … what?
Here’s a thought …
“To think that realistic fiction is by definition superior to imaginative fiction is to think imitation is superior to invention.”
Ursula K. LeGuin, October 21, 1929 – January 22, 2018.
And a video …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Have a good day.

*        Yep: I think you got through, Olga!   And that’s possibly what Mummy’s there for, at the mo … !

†        Morning, @Badwolf … !

‡        My pleasure, Debbi!   (You should be able to use AirDrop to send it to Rick … )
