Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 27th August, 2019

27th August, 2019.

Yes: it’s true.

I’ve officially gone over the top with that intro!

Possibly!

At any rate?

It’s another early start for me.

And, thankfully?

One that’s a four hour shift: rather than the eight hour ones I’ve been doing.

That’s good, as far as I’m concerned.

It means I can get home … and go back to bed!

~≈§≈~

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Badwolf*, and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with Debbi scoring five out of five, and Anne on three.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video …

Q1) C. S. Forrester was born: on 27th 1899.   The novelist’s best known creation was a fictional Royal Navy officer called Horatio … what?
Q2) Nine years earlier?   27th August, 1890, saw the birth of which photographer/artist?
Q3) 27th August is — in the US — National Banana Lovers Day.   Bananas used for cooking are usually called what?
Q4) 27th August is Film and Movies Day in Russia.   Whiat’s the English language title of the Russian film, Ночной Дозор (Nochnoy Dozor)?
Q5) Finally … ?   27th August is the feast day of Saint Margaret the Barefooted.   Margaret’s the patron saint of whom: abuse victims, epileptics or brewers?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1) 26th August is a public holiday.   Where: England and Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland?
Q2) This type of holiday is also known as a what holiday?
A2) A bank holiday.
Q3) When — in the relevant part of the UK — is the next public holiday?
Q4) True or False: New Year’s Day is a Public Holiday on the Isle of Man?
A4) True.
Q5) Finally … ?   True or False: Saint Patrick’s Day is a public holiday in Scotland?
A5) False.   (Just in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.)
Here’s a quote …
“Rosemary and Guy Woodhouse had signed a lease on a five-room apartment in a geometric white house on First Avenue when they received word, from a woman named Mrs. Cortez, that a four-room apartment in the Bramford had become available.”
Rosemary’s Baby by Ira Levin, August 27, 1929 – November 12, 2007.
And a song …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Have a good day.

*        It went as well as it could, Anne: although I’m missing my nephew!   (I have to admit, I’m looking up a few more horror films.   We’ll have to see if I get a chance to watch them!)

†        Ha!   I think we’re going to get one of those summers that sticks around, Debbi.   Yesterday was the warmest August Bank holiday on record.   It was definitely sweaty … !   Oh, by the by … I though the photo would put a smile on your face …
