Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 13-7-2021: Patrick Stewart.

13th July, 2021.

I have to admit, I woke this morning … very aware that the weather, outside … ?

Looked grim.

It’s actually looking … well … slightly better.

Not sunny … but sunnier than it was …

~≈Á≈~

You’re possibly aware I follow politics.

Although not to the same extent as some.

If you’re reading the desktop version of this site, you’d’ve noticed the petitions I have in the sidebar.

One to keep the £20 uplift to Universal Credit.

The other, supporting scrapping voter ID.

The petition to keep the uplift is having issues: it’s nowhere near the 100, 000 target needed to force a debate in the House of Commons.

Feel free to share it, if you think it’s important.

On the other hand?

The Voter ID petition has hit the target: and is now waiting for a parliamentary date.

Here’s hoping that’s soon.

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga*, Debbi† and Edith‡, putting in their answers: with Olga and Debbi scoring five out of five, and Edith on one.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video …

Q1)        13th July saw the birth of actor, Patrick Stewart.   In which year of the 1940s?

Q2)        He played Lucius Sejanus in which BBC series: Dr Who, I, Claudius or EastEnders?

Q3)        He played Captain Jean Luc Picard in which version of Star Trek: Star Trek, Star Trek: The Next Generation or Star Trek: Discovery?

Q4)        Between 1966 and 1982, he was a member of the Royal Shakespeare what?

Q5)        Finally … ?   He played Gurney Halleck in the 1984 version of Dune.   Who directed that version of Dune?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1)        12th July is the feast day of Jason of Thessalonica.   Where is Thessalonica: Croatia, Italy or Greece?
A1)        Greece.

Q2)        12th July is ALSO the feast day of Saint Veronica.   She’s associated with what: the Veil of Veronica, the True Cross or the bones of Saint Peter?
A2)        The Veil of Veronica.

Q3)        Fullerene is named after Buckminster Fuller: born on 12th July, 1895.   Fullerene is a type of what: aluminium, carbon or silicon?
A3)        Carbon.

Q4)        Wilko Johnson was born: on 12th July, 1947.   He was a founder member of which pub-rock band: the Kursaal Flyers, Eddie and the Hot Rods or or Dr Feelgood?
A4)        Dr Feelgood.

Q5)        Finally … ?   The Australian Aboriginal Flag was first flown on 12th July, 1971.   It features a yellow what on a red and black background?
A5)        Circle.
Here’s a thought …
“Actually, I think my appearance in The Simpsons and an appearance that I did on Sesame Street - in praise of the letter B - were perhaps the two most distinguished bits of work that I’ve done in the United States.”
Patrick Stewart.
And a song …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Feel free to share today’s video Teaser.

Have a good day.

*        OK, Olga: I’ll tweet the Teasers past you, in the meantime.   That way, you can see the results.   Have a good time!

†        Can you send me over the specific link, Debbi?   I’m having trouble finding the free one!    Wait, wait!   I’ve got it, Debbi: and signed up!

‡        It’s an old word, Edith^: here’s the Wiktionary entry on it!   And don’t worry about guessing, Edith: you always do well, I think.   (Oh, this is the Oxford English Dictionary entry for ‘iffy.’   Does it show up, at your end?)

^        Oh, Wilko was in Dr Feelgood, so you know, Edith.   They, and Ian Dury and the Blockheads, were big influences on the punk movement.

Oh, Debbi, Edith? Looks like it just us for the next few days: Mum and Olga are both on vacation: in places with poor internet connection.

Hopefully, they’s be able to send us a postcard!
