Friday 28 April 2023

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 28th April 2023.

28th April, 2023.

Right … it’s officially Friday.

I’m thinking I’ll get wet, when I go out: it looks like it’s going to rain, later!

Frankly?

I think I’d prefer something drier!

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga*, Mum† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with everyone scoring five out of five.

The day also saw Trevor§ leaving us a message.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video.

Q1)        28th April, 2021, saw the death of comedian, el Risitas.   He was a comedian from where: Spain, Portugal or Italy?

Q2)        28th April, 1881, saw who escape from the Lincoln County jail: Pat Garret, Billy the Kid or Billy the Goat?

Q3)        28th April, 1948, saw the birth of writer, Terry Pratchett.   He worked on The Long Earth novels with whom: Stephen Baxter, Neil Gaiman or Larry Niven?

Q4)        28th April is the feast day of Saint Aphrodisius.   He’s usually depicted carrying his own severed … what? (Careful!)

Q5)        Finally … ?   The Empire Stadium opened on 28th April, 1923.   It was better known how: Wembley Stadium, Wimbledon or the Emirates?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1)        27th April saw the birth of writer, Mary Wollstonecraft.   In which year of the 1750s?

Here’s a thought …
“Rebus was eating breakfast in the canteen and wishing there was more caffeine in the coffee, or more coffee in the coffee come to that.”
Beggars Banquet, by Ian Rankin, born 28 April 1960.
And a song …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        She was definitely a bit left wing, Olga.   And definitely someone … um … unorthodox … !   If I remember correctly, she spent a lot of time in France, during the Revolution: which can’t’ve been easy.
At ANY rate?   Here’s hoping something pays off!
(58?   You’re looking good on it!)

        Hello, Mum!

‡        About The Cursed Earth, Debbi?   The Green Giant episodes weren’t the only ones that caused issues.   Turning McDonalds and Burger King into warring hillbillies — in a couple of earlier episodes — caused problems, too!

Q1) Spain (I barely knew him, as he became popular while I was away).

Q2) Billy the Kid

Q3) Stephen Baxter

Q4) Head

Q5) Wembley Stadium
Yes, Wollstonecraft had an interesting life, to put it mildly. It's a shame she died so young and didn't pay any part in her daughter's life, but... Many women died giving birth, then.
Thanks, Paul. I'll keep you posted. And I hope you have a good day. Here there's some rain forecast for Sunday, and we desperately need it, so, fingers crossed!
