Did I mention my nephew, Jude, was over, last night?
My nephew, Jude, was over, last night.
So … ?
Of course he’s added a video: he and his friends wanted to show how to do horrible things to electronic chickens …
At any rate … ?
We had take away — fish, chicken nuggets, chips — from a chip shop in Brentwood High Street, ordered through Deliveroo.
It took an hour to get here: from a chip shop half a mile away.
I was angry, Jude was hungry, and Ruth — my sister, and Jude’s mother — was distinctly underwhelmed.
So, of course, I’ve put in a complaint.
I don’t know if anything positive will happen, as a result, though.
Partly?
Because I’m not sure I’ve used the complaint system, correctly.
But partly?
Because, I suspect, it’s going to take Deliveroo a while to get things moving.
And … ?
Because I suspect Deliveroo are going to blame the chip shop, who are going to blame the delivery driver … who’s going to blame the traffic … !
I’m …
Well, I’d like the money back.
But suspect it’s going to take a while.

Oh, did I mention I’ve got a Judge Dredd themed t-shirt on route?
I’ve got a Judge Dredd themed t-shirt on route.
Just so you know.
And … ?
I had the official “Track You Order” email in.
Yes: you’re right.
The t-shirt’s still in a facility in North Carolina.
Heigh-ho … !
Let’s move on.
Yesterday’s Teaser saw Mum*, Olga†, and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with everyone scoring five out of five.
Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

And a song …
The next ten question set is on the 3rd April: it’s about 2001: A Space Odyssey.
Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.
Decisions about scores are final.
Thank you for coming: have a good day.
* Hello, Mum … ! (Irene’s feeling poorly, apparently.)
† I know what you mean, Olga. While the Brentwood branch was shut, physically putting an odd amount of cash in to Bank A, for example, mean going to its branch in Romford … or going to Bank B, in Brentwood, and transferring it to Bank A, online, when I got home. Lord alone knows what I would’ve had to do if I needed something really complex.
The female has a sweeter gaze? Poetry is all very well and good, but it’s not necessarily helpful, is it? At any rate, the dove situation sounds like the one time sexual dimorphism would be bloody handy!
And there’s extra eggs … ? There’s a few universities in Barcelona, aren’t there? It’s just occurred to me that — if any of them are doing studies of this species — there might be some funding, around, for any renovations …
‡ It’s very good, isn’t it Debbi? It’s just a shame Dick van Dyke never got the hang of a Cockney accent. Now I think of it, we can say the same about David Boreanaz: his Irish accent in Buffy: The Vampire Slayer was terrible. So was Juliette Landau’s English accent! James Marsters’, by contrast? Was reasonably good.
Actually, there was a TV version of Anne Rice’s The Witching Hour, called The Mayfair Witches, aired a while back. I turned off, ten minutes into episode two of series one. The bad Irish accents the actors were using were supposed to be Scottish!

I think there are many collared doves around so not sure it would be specialised or rare enough, but worth thinking about.
Keep us posted on the complaint. I am sure they won't want a bad review, none of the people involved, but they must track everything (the time the food is ready, etc.), so I am sure they know what happened... If the App works as it should, at least...
