Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 13-7-2023 — Dance With a Stranger.

13th July, 2023: Dance With a Stranger.

Did I mention I had my nephew over, just recently?

I had my nephew over, recently.

And totally forgot to mention we’d recorded the video he made!

It seems to be doing well …

~≈🥤≈~

Did I mention I caught one — and a bit! — episode of an Australian series called Tidelands?

I think it’s going to be one I’ll be giving a miss.

OK … the premise — Drug dealers in a small coastal town working with mermaids — seemed OK.

But?

The cast were all just a little too good looking*: and the dialogue just a little too stilted.

A little too much like The Young and the Restless for my comfort!

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Mum†, Olga‡ and Debbi§ putting in their answers: with Olga scoring five out of five, and Debbi and Mum on four.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video.

Q1)        13th July saw Ruth Ellis become the last woman to be hanged.   Where: the UK, the USA or the USSR?

Q2)        She was hanged in which year of the 1950s?

Q3)        Ellis was hanged after murdering her boyfriend.   In which year of the 1950s?

Q4)        She shot her boyfriend outside a pub called the Magdala.   Where was the Magdala: Hampstead, Highbury or High Wickham?

Q5)        Finally … ?   Who played Ellis in the 1985 film, Dance with a Stranger?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1)        Family Feud started broadcasting in the US: on 12th July, 1976.   What’s the UK version called: Family Feud, Family Fortunes or Family Fibs?
A1)        Family Fortunes.

Q2)        12th July is marked as the Twelfth.   The day is a public holiday in which part of the UK: England, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland?
A2)        Northern Ireland.

Q3)        São Tomé and Príncipe declared their independence: on 12th July, 1975.   From where: Portugal, Spain or Italy?
A3)        Portugal.

Q4)        12th July is the Feast of Saint Peter and Saint Paul.   According to which calendar: the Gregorian calendar, or Julian calendar?
A4)        The Julian calendar.

Q5)        Finally … ?   True or False: 12th July is the International Day of Combating Sand and Dust Storms.   True, or false?
A5)        True.
Here’s a thought …

“The execution of Ruth Ellis may do good.   Not even the thickest head could have remained unmoved as the monstrous drama moved to its ending in the still summer heat of Wednesday morning.”
From The Spectator’s report on Ruth Ellis’ death.

And a song …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Decisions about scores are final.

*        No, really.   The cast were all extremely good looking.   The main character?   Was supposed to have finished a ten year sentence for murder: and didn’t look like any prisoner that I’d met!   (She had a figure Barbie would envy, for a start!)

        Hello, Mum!

Will do, Olga!   (Hopefully, my HbA1c levels are OK: I’m not too sure about the Trulicity … !)

§        Oh, yes!   The next episode’s out, today, Debbi: I’ll possibly be asking you About deliveries, At some point.   I’m assuming 4k’s OK … ?   ;D

I was reading an article about oral versions of the medication you are injecting (well, of that class of medications), from a doctor who has been using it on some of his patients, in the USA. It seems it does work quite well, but it might cause more stomach upsets that way.
Keep us posted on everything.

Better recheck your scores. I only see 1 person with 5 out of 5.
