Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 24th August 2023.

24th August, 2023.

Right … it’s Thursday.

And?

My bills are paid: and the utilities are topped up.

Which was worrying me, if I’m honest.

At any rate … ?

I’ve a meeting today: with a charity called Peabody.

Hopefully, they’ll be able to help with my Personal Independence Payment claim.

Over the past few days … ?

There’s been a lot made about the death of a little girl called Sara Sharif.

She was found dead, a few days ago, in the family home in Surrey: a home that had been seemingly abandoned by the rest of her family.

It seems her father, step mother and uncle had fled to Pakistan: whilst making a ‘Concern for Welfare’ call to local police.

Various things have come out, since reporting started.

Including reports that one neighbour had been told the little girl was being home-schooled: and, when she had been seen at school, had been seen with injuries.

I’m not someone who’s connected to the case: just someone saddened by some tragic news.

But also someone who’s wondering something: something not mentioned in all the press I’ve seen.

Where’s the girl’s mother in all this … ?

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Mum* and Debbi† putting in their answers: with Debbi scoring five out of five, and Mum on four.

The day also saw Olga leaving us a message, here.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video.

Q3)        24th August marks Ukraine’s independence.   From where: the USSR, Russia or Poland?

Q4)        Charlie Watts died: on 24th August, 2021.   He played drums for the Rolling Stones.   And for who else: the Beatles, the Barracudas, Cream or Alexis Korner’s Blues Incorporated?

Q5)        Finally … ?   24th August, 2017, saw the launch of the Formosat 5 observation satellite.   By which country’s space agency: Indonesia’s, Malaysia’s or Taiwan’s?

Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

A1)        Blue or yellow.

Q2)        Lisa Najeeb Halaby was born on 23rd August, 1951.   She’s better known as Queen Noor of where: Jordan, Saudi Arabia or Israel?
A2)        Jordan.

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        Hello, Mum!

I’ll let you take your time, Debbi!

They’re all cardboard, Olga?   I’m impressed!   And I’m not surprised the Minecraft one’s getting attention: it’s very well done!
User experience!   There’s a thing I should learn!
