Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 15th March 2023.

15th March, 2023.

Yes: it’s Wednesday.

And I have to wonder why people have stopped calling it Hump Day.

I have no idea: but am guessing it’s something to do with Elon Musk taking over Twitter.

That’s where I usually used to see the phrase.

At any rate … ?

It’s Wednesday, the day after my new uploaded these:

I hope you enjoy them!

Oh … earworms, songs playing through your head.

I get them, occasionally.

And, just recently?

I’ve had live versions of Wet Leg’s ‘Chaise Longue’ banging away through my head.

It’s a lot better than the studio version, I know that!

Now … am I the only one who thinks Hester Chambers —Wet Leg’s very blonde guitarist — looks vaguely like Hellraiser star, Jamie Clayton.

Jamie Clayton

Rhian Teasdale (L) and Hester Chambers (R).

You tell me!

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga*, Mum† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with everyone scoring five out of five.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video.

Q1)        Footballer, Paul Pogba, was born on 15th March, 1993.   He plays for which Italian club side: Inter Milan, Juventus or Lazio?

Q2)        Maine joined the Union: on 15th March, 1820.   It’s known as the what state: the Pine Tree State, the Wolf State or the Pyjama State?

Q3)        15th March, 1955, saw the birth of singer, Dee Snyder.   He was the lead singer of which band: Iron Maiden, Twisted Sister or Colonel Kira’s Chaotic Catastrophe?

Q4)        Farzad Bazoft was executed by the Iraqi government: on 15th March, 1990.   He was a reporter for which newspaper: the Times, the Sun or the Observer?

Q5)        Finally … ?   Director, David Cronenberg was born: on 15th March, 1943.   He plays Dr Kovich in which series: Dr Who, Star Trek Discovery or Foundation?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1)        14th March is Dita e Verës, or Summer Day.   Where: Albania, Bulgaria or the Czech Republic?
A1)        Albania.

Q2)        Jodrell Bank Observatory contacted the Pioneer 5 satellite on 14th March, 1960: setting a distance record in the process.   The Observatory is in which English county: Berkshire, Cheshire or Derbyshire?
A2)        Cheshire.

Q3)        14th March, 2007, saw fourteen people killed: in the small town of Nandigram.   Nandigram is where: India, Bangladesh or Pakistan?
A3)        India.   You can read about the incident, here.

Q4)        Security forces killed at least sixty-five people in Hlaingthaya Township: on 14th March, 2012.   Township and killings were where: Myanmar, Nepal or Oman?

Here’s a thought …
“I thought Naked Lunch was wildly entertaining, so what do I know?”
David Cronenberg, born 15 March, 1943.
And, as it was released on 15th March, 1982, a song^ …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        I can safely say the day went well, Olga.   Now all I have to worry about is the GP’s appointment!

        Hello, Mum!

I’ll have to add Slaughterhouse Five to my list, Debbi.   It’s supposed to be one of the Great American Novels …

^        There are times when I prefer Yazoo’s original song, and times I prefer the Flying Picketsª cover version.   Either are beautiful.

ª        Apparently?   The Flying Pickets’ version of the song was Margaret Thatcher’s favourite song.   The irony, there, of course?   She was one of the most right wing Prime Ministers Britain had seen in years, and helped keep the Miners Strike going.   The band took their name from the flying pickets who were at the Strike … and played fund raising gigs for the Miners.   I’ve written that as one of the song’s lines — “This is going to take a long time” — floated past.   The Strike certainly did.

Sorry I'm a bit late today. I was meeting a friend and didn't come back until now. I think I mentioned I'll be away from the evening of the 29th of March until the 13th of April, and apart from not taking my computer, I will be spending some of the time travelling and in Alexandria, were some sites are not available, so I am unlikely to visit until after I'm back.
