Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 3rd March 2023.

3rd March, 2023.

Yes: I’ve been toying with the new camera.

Frankly?

The mic’s rather tinny: so I use my iMac’s onboard mic, when recording.

And it’s not got as wide a colour range, either.

I’ll live: it’s got very good resolution.

But if anyone want’s to buy me a clip-on ring-light, so I can eliminate shadow?

They’d be welcome.

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Mum*, Olga† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with Olga and Debbi scoring five out of five, and Mum on three.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video.

Q1)        According to the relevant World Health Organisation office, 3rd March is World what Day: World Sight Day, World Hearing Day or World Smell Day?

Q2)        In Japan, 3rd March is Hinamatsuri.   In other words, it’s what: Girl’s Day, Boy’s Day or Baby’s Day?

Q3)        Tsar Alexander 2nd of Russia signed the Emancipation Manifesto: on 3rd March, 1861.   The Manifesto did what: allowed women to vote, freed serfs ended pogroms?

Q4)        3rd March, 1938, saw oil discovered, where: Iran, Iraq, California or Saudi Arabia?

Q5)        Finally … ?   The USS Nautilus was decommissioned: on 3rd March, 1980.   It was which country’s first nuclear submarine: the UK’s, the USA’s or the USSR’s?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1)        Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, San Marino, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, all joined the United Nations: on 2nd March, 1992.   Which of those nations was the only one that hadn’t been part of the Soviet Union?
A1)        San Marino.

Q2)        2nd March is Adwa Victory Day.   Where: Egypt, Eswatini or Ethiopia?
A2)        Ethiopia.

Q3)        CDs, and CD players, were released in the US: on 2nd March, 1983.   A CD is a Compact … what?
A3)        Compact Disc.

Q4)        Former MP, Lembit Öpik, was born on 2nd March, 1965.   Famously, he dated Gabriela Irimia.     Gabriela belonged to which girl band: The Saturdays, the Spice Girls or the Cheeky Girls?
A4)        The Cheeky Girls.   (Possibly the cheesiest pop band ever!   Don’t follow this link if you have a healthy regard for music!)

Q5)        Finally … ?   Anthony Albanese was born on 2nd March, 1963.   He’s the current Prime Minister of where: Australia, New Zealand or South Africa?
A5)        Australia.
Here’s a thought …
“A St. Trinian’s girl would be sadistic, cunning, dissolute, crooked, sordid, lacking morals of any sort and capable of any excess.   She would also be well-spoken, even well-mannered and polite.   Sardonic, witty and very amusing.   She would be good company.   In short: typically human and, despite everything, endearing.”
Ronald Sealre, (3 March 1920 – 30 December 2011) speaking about his most famous creation.
And a song …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        Hello, Mum!   (It was Ethiopia and Australia!)

Yeah: kids are brighter than we give them credit for, Olga.
If it’s any consolation … ?   The pair have been charged with gross negligence manslaughter.   Police have been unable to determiner the poor thing’s gender … …

Yeah, I thought it might appeal, Debbi!   I’m going to be re-using it in a few days time!
Oh, I know you’re not a fan: but I’ve got hold of the uncensored version of the Judge Dredd strip, The Cursed Earth.   The chap with the hair looks like he’s had too many burgers!
