Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 31-3-2024 — Easter Sunday

31st March, 2024: Easter Sunday.

Right … Easter Sunday …

Which means I’m going nowhere near sugar.

But, given regular readers know I’m diabetic?

They’ll probably tell you I’m planning on going nowhere near it … or chocolate!

Gosh, the excitement, eh?

~≈Ü≈~

JUST in case you’re wondering … ?

I’ve got the soundtrack for Strickland’s In Fabric on in the background.

The music is still worth listening too, after all this time.

I’m betting the film, itself, would be just as watchable …

~≈Ü≈~

Sometimes … ?

My imagination gets away with me.

I spent most of yesterday morning with a version of Itsy Bitty Teeny Weeny Yellow Polka Dot Bikini going through my head.

Performed by Chancellor Gowron of the Klingon Empire: and Commander Strax of the Sontaran empire.

Of course I mentioned it on Twitter.

And of course, the ever talented @MAW_H obliged!

Frankly?

It made my evening!

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Mum*, Olga† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with Olga scoring ten out of ten, Debbi on nine, and Mum on eight.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video.

Q1)        31st March, 2024 is Easter Sunday: for western Christianity.   When in 2024, is it for Eastern Christianity: 4th May, 5th May or 6th May?

Q2)        Easter marks Jesus’ return from what: the dead, Galilee or Torremolinos?

Q3)        Easter Sunday is marked at the same time as which Jewish festival: Yom Kippur, Passover or Rosh Hashana?

Q4)        One gift that gets handed out on Easter Sunday, is the what: Easter egg, hot cross buns or plum pudding?

Q5)        Finally … ?   Which ‘B’ is supposed arrive at Easter?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1)        30th March is the County day of Cheshire.   It marks Cheshire … and the Magna Carta of where: Chester, Banbury or Altrincham?
A1)        Chester.

Q2)        The county has eleven what: MPs, Dukes or doctors?
A2)        MPs.

Q3)        Cheshire’s highest noble was the Earl of Chester.   Who’s the current Earl of Chester: King Charles 3rd, the Prince of Wales or Queen Camilla?
A3)        Prince William, the Prince of Wales.

Q4)        Stephen Morris and Ian Curtis were from Cheshire.   The musicians were founding members of which band: Joy Division, New Order or The Other Two?
A4)        Joy Division.

Q5)        Chester is one of counties that does not have a what: TV channel, BBC Radio Station, Lord Lieutenant or airport?
A5)        BBC Radio Station.   Since writing this set, I’ve found the county lacks an airport … as well as a regional BBC radio station.   The scores given, reflect this.

Q6)        Cheshire Cheese is made in Cheshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Denbighshire and Flintshire.     Denbighshire and Flintshire are where: England, Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland?
A6)        Wales.

Q7)        The cheese comes in three different colours: red, white and …what?
A7)        Blue.

Q8)        Which crime prevention movement started in Cheshire: Crimestoppers, Neighbourhood Watch or the Guardian Angels?
A8)        Neighbourhood Watch.

Q9)        The world’s most commonly used plastic was first made by ICI: in the Cheshire town of Northwick.   Which plastic is it: polyvinyl-chloride, polythene, polystyrene or polyurethane?

Q10)        Finally … ?   Who wrote about the Cheshire Cat: J. R. R. Tolkien, Lewis Carroll, C. S. Lewis or Rudyard Kipling?
A10)        Lewis Carroll.
Here’s a thought …
“In Western Christianity, Eastertide, or the Easter Season, begins on Easter Sunday and lasts seven weeks, ending with the coming of the 50th day, Pentecost Sunday.”
From the Wikipedia entry on Easter.
And a song …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        Hello, Mum!

Congratulations, there, Olga!   Hopefully, that’ll lead somewhere nice and positive.   (The Job Centre’s suggesting I do something similar: and at least look at an OU taster course.   We’ll have to see§.)

Sorry, Debbi!   In my defence, I do try and warn people: the next big one’s tomorrow: and not the obvious subject.

§        To be honest, Olga?   I’ve been referred to a local mental health unit: to see if they can confirm a tentative diagnosis of ADHD.   We’ll have to see what happens there, when it comes through.   But that would explain why I’m looking at the courses, and thinking “That’s too long.   That’s too long.   That’s three hours, that’s too long!   That one’s even longer!”

Q1) May the 5th

Q2) the dead (Jesus’s return from Torremolinos sounds like a cheesy song title. Especially because Jesús is quite a common name in Spanish. One of the characters in one of my novels, The Man Who Never Was is called Jesús... for an interesting reason. And I won’t say anything else).

Q3) Passover

Q4) Easter egg

Q5) The Easter Bunny
Yes, I guess you were waiting on that assessment. They might be onto something, although you've kept the teaser going for a long time (even though it changes, it does require a lot of sustained work), and you read and review sometimes long books and series, so you'd probably manage one of those courses, as they've divided them up into weeks and the videos and readings aren't very long (individually). The projects can take a do (at least in my case, because I know nothing about design and learning new tools without any previous experience or talent takes a while), but there are quite a large variety of offering, including some on artificial intelligence or data analysis, SEO, that I imagine would work well remotely. In any case, see what they come up with. It should kept me going, although it could get frustrating at times. (I am sure you'd managed, though).
Keep us posted on the assessment and everything else.
