13th December, 2024: Malteasered!
Hmmm …
I’ve officially updated to the newest version of macOS Sequoia, version 15.2, one that includes a lot of new features.
Including the much discussed Apple Intelligence features.
And … ?
And possibly the rewriting tools: although I don’t know how that one would affect the style of something I write.
But … ? The List, and Table, tools could be useful.
We’ll have to see.
~≈✒️≈~
I do know that part of the update in the Image Playground: an app that lets you generate images.
That could be fun: although I don’t know how mu use it will be.
But … ?
It’s turned me into an astronaut …
… that looks vaguely like Alfred E. Neuman …
~≈😳≈~
I’ve probably mentioned the ‘Ron Says Buggrit’ t-shirts I’ve bought, haven’t I?
I’ve bought a couple of Terry Pratchett themed, ‘Ron Says Buggrit’ t-shirts … !
And … ?
Absolutely no Terry Pratchett fans recognised the phrase: when I wore the thing in Brentwood High Street, yesterday.
But at least a couple of people asked me who Ron was … !
Let’s move on.
Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga*, Mum† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with Olga and Debbi scoring five out of five, and Mum on three.
Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?
Q1) Malta became a republic on 13th December. In which year of the 1970s?Q2) Was it a member of the Commonwealth at the time it became a republic?Q3) When did Malta become independent from the UK: 1963, 1964 or 1965?Q4) 1942 saw Malta awarded what: the Victoria Cross, George Cross, Nobel Peace Prize or the Légion d’honneur?Q5) Finally … ? Angelo Muscat was a Maltese born actor. He played the Butler in which 60s series?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …
Q1) 12th December, 1975, saw the birth of actress, Mayim Bialik. She played Blossom in which 90s TV show?A1) Blossom. Here’s a fact …
“Malta has been inhabited since about 5900 BC.”From the Wikipedia entry on Malta.
A national anthem …
And an earworm …
The next large question set is on 31st December.
Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.
Decisions about scores are final.
Thank you for coming: have a good day.
* It would be a touch awkward for her, Olga!
(According to Wikipedia, a Cuba Libre is — basically — white rum and coke. With a slice of lime. I’ve suggested a slice of orange, myself: it goes better with a cola … … )
† Hello, Mum! (16:30, you say?)
‡ Apparently, Debbi: many Americans object to Universal Healthcare because it’s too socialist. Socialist be damned: I’d prefer my tax money going on healthcare, than on a large army.

Just as a thought, Debbi … ?
It seems a re-animated version of The Savages — the missing William Hartnell story — will be released on 24th March: at least, on the UK branch of Amazon.

I don’t know if it will be released in the USA.

Q5) The Prisoner
The wife of one of the GP’s I worked with was from Malta, Melita. She was lovely and I’ve always been curious about visiting the place. There’s a pretty strange movie by Francis Ford Coppola, filmed partly in Malta, called Youth Without Youth, that made me even more curious about the place. Some day, perhaps…

I'll have to try orange with Coke, although I'm a big fan of lemon.
Some people in this country actually think health care needs fixing. Desperately.
Who cares if the government provides it? I was practically raised on the dole, when I was a child.
We lived in government-subsidized housing. I'm going to turn down healthcare? I think not.
