Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 6-12-2024 — Nefertiti’s Bust

6th December, 2024: Nefertiti’s Bust.

Right … it’s Friday: and I’ve a man due,

To do stuff in the bathroom.

Hopefully?

That lot won’t take long.

~≈🛁≈~

In the US, a man called Brian Thompson was shot a couple of days ago: by a masked assailant.

In what looked — to me — like a targeted assassination.

It turns out Thompson was the Chief Executive Officer of one of America’s largest health insurance companies,

That the killer has been caught on New York’s CCTV cameras.

And that the bullets had words, had ‘deny’, ‘defend’ and ‘deposed’, written on the bullet casings.

Why was Thompson shot?

I don’t know.

But?

I hope the killer isn’t shot during his arrest.

I’d love to hear his explanation.

Oh, JUST as a last word … ?

My Judge Dredd t-shirt turned up.

The phrase ‘Democracy Isn’t Working’ is going to confuse someone!

~≈😳≈~

Even more lastly … !?

Dr Who’s show runner, Russell T. Davies has just been interview on the Today programme.

According to that interview?

The Christmas special airs at 17:10 on Christmas Day … and the second series starts in May of 2025.

I’m going to look forward to those …

Let’s move on.

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Mum* and Olga† putting in their answers: with Olga scoring five out of five, and Mum on three.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video.

Q1)        The Nefertiti Bust was discovered: on 6th December, 1912.   Nefertiti was the wife of which pharaoh: Ramses 2nd, Akhenaten or Amenhotep 4th?

Q2)        What was Nefertiti’s title: First Consort, Great Royal Wife or Great Cow of the Arch of the Sky?

Q3)        Nefertiti’s husband is believed to be the father of Tutankhamun.   Is Nefertiti Tutankhamun’s mother: yes, or no?

Q4)        Nefertiti and her husband promoted an early form of what: veganism, monotheism or agnosticism?

Q5)        Finally … ?   Nefertiti’s bust is in the Neues Museum.   Bust, and Museum, are in which German city: Berlin, Leipzig or Hamburg?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1)        “Party Political Broadcast” aired on 5th December, 1974.   It was the last episode of which British comedy show?
A1)        Monty Python’s Flying Circus.   (That seems a natural follow up to this set.)

Q2)        Footballer, Jimmy Dimmock, was born on 5th December, 1900.   He made four hundred appearances for which team: Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United or Everton?
A2)        Tottenham Hotspur.   (I don’t know if he’s related to Charlie Dimmock)

Q3)        5th December is the UN sponsored what: World Water Day, World Soil Day or World Desert Day?
A3)        World SoilDay.

Q4)        5th December is the UN sponsored International Volunteer Day for Economic and Social Development.   It’s also known as International what Day.
A4)        International Volunteer Day.   Thank heavens for short answers …

Q5)        Finally … ?   5th December is the feast day of Saint Sabbas the Sanctified.   He’s usually depicted, holding a what: apple, banana or orange?
A5)        An apple.
Here’s a thought …
“The Nefertiti bust has become not only a defining emblem of ancient Egypt, but also a symbol of the impact that European colonialism has had on Egypt’s history and culture.”
From the Wikipedia entry on the Bust.
A video …

And an earworm …

The next ten question sets are on the 8th and 9th of December.

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        Hello, Mum!

It’s more likely to be Joseph of Cupertino, Olga: that’s where the company’s based, after all‡.   :D
So, hang on, the list of accounts is incomplete?   I think one of the missing accounts has the revenue from the app … …

I think Jobs was a Buddhist, Olga: they’ve got Bodhisattvas, rather than saints …

Q3) no

Q4) monotheism

Q5) Berlin
I'm not sure if there was much revenue directly from the act, but it is all quite weird.
And, I saw this article and thought of you. It seems it doesn't work for everybody, but it might be worth it, if one of the earworms really gets on your nerves.
