Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 25-12-2024 — Christmas Day

25th December, 2024: Christmas Day.

Right … it’s Christmas.

We are officially allowed to jump, scream and run around.

Whilst waving our hands in the air.

That is … we’re allowed jump, scream, run around and wave our hands in the air … if we want to make bloody idiots of ourselves.

If we’re not … ?

Hopefully, we’re having a good day.

~≈🎅🏻≈~

At any rate … ?

It’s Christmas Day.

Which means … ?

Presents for one thing.

And the inevitable review of a Doctor Who episode.

Hopefully, I’ll have my review of Joy to the World up by Friday.

But, until then?

I’ll offer you my review of The War Games In Colour.

~≈🎅🏻≈~

Let’s move on.

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Mum*, Olga‡ and Debbi§ putting in their answers: with everyone scoring four out of five.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video.

Q1)        “I saw three ships come sailing in, on Christmas Day, on Christmas Day.   I saw three ships come sailing in, on Christmas Day in the … ” what: morning, afternoon, or evening?

Q2)        “I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day” was written by who: Longfellow, Wordsworth or Dickens?

Q3)        Christmas Day in the Julian Calendar is 25th December.   That’s equivalent to what date in January, in the modern, Gregorian, calendar?

Q4)        According to its president, Christmas Day was on 1st October in one country.   Which country: Brazil, Venezuela or Chile?

Q5)        Finally … ?   “I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day” was recorded and released by whom: Elton John, Wizzard or the Who?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

.
Q1)        Christmas Eve, 2024, is a Tuesday§.   When was it last a Tuesday: 2017, 2018 or 2019?
A1)        2019.

Q2)        In many parts of Eastern Europe, many will celebrate Christmas with a meal made up of twelve dishes.   Those dishes are said to represent what: the Apostles, the months of the year or the twelve days of Christmas?
A2)        The Apostles.

Q3)        Who traditionally open their presents on Christmas Eve: the British Royal Family, the Osmonds or the 22nd Special Air Service Regiment?
A3)        The British Royal Family.

Q4)        Many Jewish Americans will eating what, on Christmas Eve: Chinese food, Mexican food or Persian food … ?
A4)        Chinese food.   (Apparently?   The practise has been encouraged by the fact most Chinese foods won’t mix dairy products with meat: in line with various Kosher laws.)

Q5)        Finally … ?   Bill Anders, Jim Lovell and Frank Borman gave a reading from the Book of Genesis: on Christmas Eve of 1968.   From where: Skylab, the International Space Station or Apollo 8?
A5)        Apollo 8.
Here’s a thought …
“Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus.”
From ‘Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus’, by Francis Pharcellus Church.
And another …
“Christmas isn’t just a day, it’s a frame of mind.”
Valentine Davies.
And a a song …

The next large question set is on the 31st of December.

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        Hello, Mum§!   See you later.

†        I did, Olga§¶: although I had quite a late night.   Obsessing reviewing classic Dr Who can be a thing!   Either way, Happy Christmas!

It’s the pop art look of the alien base, Debbi§¶.   I think the set designer’s went to the same school ….  Happy Hogswatch!

§        Sorry to score everyone down on the Tuesday question: but, going by the Wikipedia entry, it was 2019, rather than 2018.

I’ve just given Patrick Troughton the treatment.   I think it makes him look like Nigel Havers … …

It's the weirdest thing, because when I checked yesterday it came up with the 2018, and I guess I wasn't the only one, but today it says 2019. Bizarre.
Have fun with your review. We also have a bank holiday here tomorrow (not in the whole of Spain, but we celebrate it here).
