Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 15th December 2024.

15th December, 2024.

Right … I’ve officially been twitting about with the new Image Playground app.

And … ?

Well, possibly surprised a few friends on Facebook.

Don’t ask!

At any rate … ?

I did some tweaking to some of the wallpapers I’ve built up: and used it for the introduction video.

Heigh-ho!

Hmm …

I’ve woken up, this morning, to … … cold water!

And?

I’ve needed to reset my boiler.

I’ll be honest: I think I’m going to need to keep an eye open …

Let’s move on.

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Mum*, Olga† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with everyone scoring five out of five.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s [insert number here] questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video.

Q1)        A C-64 Norseman disappeared over the English Channel: on 15th December, 1945.     Which band leader disappeared with it?

Q2)        Emperor Nero was born on 15th December, AD37.   He succeeded which emperor: Julius Caesar, Tiberius Caesar or Claudius Caesar?

Q3)        15th December is Zamenhof Day.   It celebrates the designer of which language: Esperanto, Klingon, Quenya or Interlingua?

Q4)        Harold Abrahams was born on 15th December, 1899.   His achievements at the 1924 Olympics were shown in which 1981 film: An American Werewolf in London, Bushido Blade or Chariots of Fire?

Q5)        Finally … ?   The Anglo Irish Agreement was signed on 15th December, 1993: by PMs, John Major and Albert Reynolds. Which of them was the Irish PM?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1)        The Millau Viaduct was inaugurated: on 14th December, 2004.   It’s where: Southern France, Northern Germany or Eastern Spain?
A1)        Southern France.

Q2)        A mass shooting took place at the Sandy Hook Elementary School: on 12th December, 2012.    School, and shooting, were where: Connecticut, Massachusetts or New York State?
A2)        Connecticut.

Q3)        Alabama joined the USA: on 14th December, 1819.   Alabama’s state flag is a red cross on what colour background?
A3)        A white one.

Q4)        Roald Amundsen’s team became the first people to reach the South Pole.    On 14th December of which year: 1910, 1911 or 1912
A4)        1911.

Q5)        Finally … ?   14th December, 1955, saw Albania, Austria, Bulgaria, Cambodia, Ceylon, Finland, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Jordan, Laos, Libya, Nepal, Portugal, Romania and Spain, all joined what: the UN, EU or AU?
A5)        The UN, or United Nations.
Here’s a thought …
“Anyone who says there isn’t pressure to look good as an actor in L.A. is lying.”
Camilla Luddington, born 15 December 1983.
A song …

 And a bloody persistant earworm … !

The next large question set is on the 31st of December.

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        Hello, Mum!

†        Did you mean lemon pips, Olga?   Rather than peeps?   Only you’ve got me thinking of an old Harry Enfield character!
At any rate … ?   Only Lovers Left Alive is another film I keep mean to watch.   Partly because I know of Jim Jarmusch’s reputation: but also because it’s got Tilda Swinton in a starring role.   She’s very worth watching, I found.
Yeah: Trump seem’s to have been elected on a legitimate majority, this time.   I still feel that’s unfortunate for the USA …

Would limes have been rationed in the US, Debbi?   I always understood that part of what the Allies — and Axis — powers were keen to have the US as an ally was because it had huge, and unrationed, resources.   Fruit included.   (The Nazis were scared of citrus fruit: and would surrender if you threw .302 caliber limes at them.)

Yes, pips, of course! I thought about it later and wondered what I had written. Not surprising, because these days I'm just running around like a headless chicken and not managing to keep up. Sorry, today I was covering activities for the charity annual event organised by the Catalan Radio and TV and tonight I'll be manning the phones until 1 am, so no time for much. And tomorrow I have a class with Jordi (a bit later than usual) so not sure if I'll be able to participate, but I'll try to stop by at the very least. Have fun! Oh, and I hope the boiler behaves!

I'm not sure about limes. Probably not, given that they can grow those in California.

More like sugar and coffee. That sort of thing.

I just started Rotten, the Lydon memoirs.

Wow! A little too relatable in places. But he had it much worse.

And it explains so much.
