1st March, 2021.
Officially?
I have now stopped shielding!
Yay!
Although, to be honest … ?
Not much has actually changed.
Saying that? The easing of lockdown means I can now met people in my back garden.
It’s a shame it’s not much of a back garden …

I’ve got Radio Four, at the moment.
The Today Programme, so you know: listening too something always seems easier, whilst I’m writing a post, than having the TV on.
They’ve announced that Saturday’s Archive on Four is called A Writer and His Country, and about the late John Le Carré: the man behind Smiley.
One little titbit they’ve revealed?
Is that — before his death, and extremely angry? — he applied for, and successfully got, Irish citizenship.
Good for him.
Let’s move on, shall we?
Yesterday’s Teaser saw Trevor*, Olga†, Mum‡, Debbi^ and Edithª putting in their answers: with Trevor, Olga, and Debbi scoring five out of five, and Mum and Edith on four.
Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?
Q1) 1st April saw the birth of science fiction writer, Anne McCaffrey. In which year of the 1920s?Q2) She moved to which country, in 1970: Ireland, the UK or France?Q3) Her first novel was called Restoree: published in which year of the 1960s?Q4) The heroes of her Pern novels? Ride what: horses, bikes or dragons?Q5) Finally … ? 1982 saw Anne publish The Crystal … what?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …
Q1) 31st March is World Backup Day. You’re supposed to back up your what: computer, car or movie collection?A1) Computer.Q2) Many backups are made to an external what: shed, petrol tank or hard drive?Q3) You can back things up, online. In other words, to the what: cloud, sky or space?A3) The cloud.Q4) Backups can restore an item. Especially if it’s been attacked by what: malicious software, hedgehogs or bananas?A4) Malicious software.Q5) Finally … ? Apple devices use a what, to back things up: a car, an iPhone or a Time Machine?
Here’s a thought …
“Mostly I’m telling people that they don’t have to be victims. They can be survivors but I don’t as a rule put ‘messages’ in my writing.”Anne McCaffrey.
And, as this song featured in All the Weyrs of Pern … ?
Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.
Feel free to share today’s video Teaser.
Have a good day.
* There’s a Scunthorpe United, Trevor … ? I learn something new, every day.
At any rate: that sounds vaguely like the old 3-2-1 backup thing people keep talking about. We’re supposed to do at least three backups, on two different media, with one being offsite. I think I’m covered … but am never sure.
† Opening wise, Olga? I’m looking forward to my local CeX re-opening. I’ve a few bits I’d like to sell on: the cash comes in handy.
And Barcelona and London — which isn’t that far from me — are … well … historic!
(That show sounds fun!)
‡ Hello, Mum!
^ It was easy? I’m going to have to up my game, Debbi! Thanks, though: it’s nice to be appreciated!
Oooh … ! Can you give me shout when that episode goes live? I think you’re due a re-tweet!
ª Oh, blimey! Covid seems to be getting away with murder, Edith!

Yes, these old cities have lots in common, no matter what their individual differences.
And you're right about the show. The company still exists (touch wood) and they always come up with new ways to get the people involved.
Enjoy the little bit of freedom (as things are looking here, we're likely to go the other way).;)

I must have mentioned Scunthorpe United before. I was at Wembley on that day as I had been all 4 times that The Iron went to Wembley. Before 1950 the teams nickname was “The Knuts”.
