After we’d done the toying around with Image Playground — I won’t post the picture, they “… make my nose look flared!” — he managed to make a video, and post it to YouTube.

A4)        The USA.

Q5)        More to the point?   They bought it from what was then, where: France, Germany or Spain?

A6)        1940.   (It went on sale on 20th December, 1940, but was cover dated March, 1941: when remaining copies were taken off the shelves and pulped.)

*        That’s a shame High Royd’s fallen out of use, Olga§: the UK’s crying out for hospital beds.   I’m assuming restoring it would cost way too much: which is a shame.   We need those beds, and having them in a historic building could do wonders.

        And, yes, you’re right about psychiatric hospital not being the thing, these days: but I’m assuming there could still be a demand.   I’ve known people who’ve benefitted from care in Warley Hospital: and on Basildon Hospital’s mental health ward.   (I remember delivering newspapers to some of the nurses at Warley: it had accommodation for them in a set of prefabs.   It didn’t have a piggery, though!)

‡        Englanders?   Englanders, Debbi?   I don’t think I know anyone who called us Englanders!!!!!   We’re English!   But, yes: Lydon does have a point: the game’s popular here, and all over the rest of the UK.   Not always for the right reasons.   You know about the Old Firm Derby, the rivalry between Celtic and Rangers, don’t you?   That can get nasty.   And Millwall’s rivalry with West Ham United, Leeds United, Crystal Palace, Charlton Athletic, Portsmouth, Everton and Gillingham, could be equally as bad.

        Snooker’s a pretty watchable game, Debbi¶: although I don’t know if it would appeal to a baseball fan!
