Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 3rd October 2024.

3rd October, 2024.

It’s official: it’s Thursday.

And I still have no payment from the Department of Work and Pensions.

This time last week, I was the plaintiff — defendant? — in a tribunal to determine if I was eligible for Personal Independence Payment.

A tribunal that went my way.

And — if I’ve understood the dates, correctly — will involve a large back payment,

Which would be appreciated: it would allow me to get some new furniture, furniture I feel would help ease my chronic joint pain.

But … ?

As of half an hour ago, there’s nothing in my account.

And … ?

According to the call centre agent I spoke to, yesterday, at the DWP?

That payment could take ‘a few weeks’.

And that I’d probably have to wait for another letter.

Do you ever get the feeling this is going to take a while … ?

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 3rd October, 2021

3rd October, 2021.

Yes: it’s Sunday.

And yes: I’m frankly expecting it to be quiet.

But with a distinct possibility the weather’s going to be better than yesterday’s.

Yesterday’s … was distinctly soggy.

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 3rd October, 2017

Hmmm …

He says …

I am facing time off.

Unpaid time.

As I’ve gone from thirty odd hours, last week, down to some fifteen, this week.

This means several things.

Frankly?

I’m job hunting.

I had a job interview, last week.   I’m trying to NOT get my hopes up: in case I don’t get the position.   But, given it’s extremely local, given the hours, And given it would be saving me a lot in terms of transport?

It’s one I dearly want.

Right now?

Right now, though, I’m listening to Radio 4’s Today programme, where Theresa May is droning on about whatever it is Brexit Bothered PM’s drone on about.

And thinking her problem are less immediate than the metaphorical lottery ticket I bought last Thursday.

Waiting — basically — to hear if I’ve won something.
