Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 28th June 2026.

28th June, 2026.

Right … it’s a Sunday.

And the day after a recent visit from my nephew, Jude.

You can tell what’s coming, can’t you?

Yes: his latest video’s up and about.

Feel free to hit the ‘Like’ button!

Just as an extra thought … ?

With Andy Burnham’s recent election as an MP, and his expected challenge to Keir Starmer’s leadership, and with one thing and another?

There’s points of discussion.

One point, discussed in this piece from the BBC?

Tells us about potential cuts to welfare benefits: in order to help fund what’s called the Defence Investment Plan.

Andy Burnham has gone on the record, to say he will “… reduce the welfare bill by getting more people into work”, in order to fund the thing.

Given he’s gone on the record to say something previous administrations have said?

I’m tempted to laugh in Andy Burnham’s face.

Or, at least, to not vote Labour in elections over the next few years.

I’d be shooting my wallet in the foot.

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 28th June 2025

28th June, 2025.

It’s official: Brentwood is not going to be warm, over the next few days.

Nope.

What the weather people on Radio 4 are telling me … is that we’re expecting what, for the UK, is going to be a heatwave.

I’m going to need to wear a long-sleeved shirt, when I go out … !

Just to keep the sun off!

~≈☀️≈~

Did I mention I’ve been sneakily watching the first series Wednesday: the Netflix series?

I’ve been sneakily watching the first series Wednesday: the Netflix series!

It’s a hell of a lot of fun.

It’s impressive all ’round.

But I’m seriously impressed by Joy Sunday, who plays Bianca.

She has a gorgeous speaking voice!

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 28-6-2024 — Mel Brooks

28th June, 2024: Mel Brooks.

Right … it’s a Friday.

And, for once, this week?

I have very little in my diary: bar setting up a few bits and bobs!

Heigh-ho!

~≈Å≈~

You’r possibly aware that — here in the UK — it’s election time: and that D-Day is next Thursday.

You possibly may not bet aware of some of the ins-and-outs … beyond the fact there’s a lot of parties to choose from.

Reform UK — led by former UKIP leader, Nigel Farage — are one of them: and are slightly more right-of-centre than I’m comfortable voting for.

Going by news from Channel Four, last night?

It’s turns out some of the party’s campaigners are even more hard right than we thought: with at least a couple making comments — on camera — that count as homophobic, racist, and lord knows what else.

As much as I’m not voting for Reform?

I’m willing to bet that some people in Brentwood — given those views — will.

Some folks in my home town can be a little bit nasty, like that.

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 28th June, 2023.

28th June, 2023.

Yes: it’s officially official.

I have a new toy: as my most recent unboxing video will show you.

I’ve now got an extremely cheap ring light.

We’ll have to see how that goes: although I suspect having a tripod mounted one — rather than a clip on one — may have helped!

Heigh ho!

~≈📸≈~

At ANY rate … ?

Yes: my nephew, Jude, was over yesterday: both he and I managed to post videos.

I hope you enjoy them!

Stranger Things — Series 4 Chapter 1 — The Hellfire Club — A Review

28th June, 2022.

Tuesday’s are unusual.

Or possibly usual.

Or possibly somewhere in between.

At any rate, and unusually for me?

I’ve got time to start watching another TV series: and will be watching The Hellfire Club, the first episode of Stranger Things’ fourth series.

Those of you who read my film and TV reviews will know I’m doing my usual thing.

I’m starting this review on the night I’m watching the episode: and will be finishing it off, tomorrow night.

Once I’ve had dinner!

Now, if you’ll excuse me?

I’ve got to put vegetables on!

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 28-6-2022 — Ukraine

28th June, 2022.

Right … I’ve been into the shop.

…

…

You possibly wondering what I’m talking about, aren’t you … ?

My washing machine’s failed.

And, as far as I can tell, it’s still under warranty.

So … ?

I went into the shop, to ask about repairs.

I’ve got to go back, this afternoon: with the relevant details.

And will see what I can see.

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 28-6-2021: Elon

28th June, 2021.

You know: there’s a few movies I’d like to see, this year.

Assuming the £20 uplift stays in place.

No Time to Die would be one.

Wonder Woman 1984 was another.

Plus, of course, The Batman.

Having been a lifelong fan, though … ?

The one I want to catch is Dune.

Which has been postponed, again!

Argh!

~≈🏜≈~

Did I mention the rat situation … ?

Damon House has rats, it seems: spotted in at least two neighbouring flats, and hear in two more.

Including mine.

Frankly?

I’ve got a rat trap on order: and reported it to Clarion.

Hopefully, they’ll get something done.

Penny Dreadful: City of Angels — Series 1 Episode 10 — Day of The Dead — A Review

28th June, 2020.

Not that I’m feeling rushed or anything … but I’m not feeling rushed.

Which is possibly contradictory, I think.

I’m not feeling rushed … but am feeling tired … !

Cie la vie … !

At any rate … ?

I’ve not felt tired enough to not to watch TV.

Frankly?

The last episode of Penny Dreadful: City of Angels, Series 1, was calling.

And, my lord, that’s one hell of a finale.

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 28-6-2020: Harlan Ellison.

28th June, 2020.

Hmmm …

I have to say, the puzzle I got sent, the other day — the one I got sent, instead of the one I wanted — does have a mild up-side.

If nothing else, I can twiddle it around and make some entertaining arrow type shapes.

Which is lovely …

If you’re bored, first thing on a Sunday morning … and an ex-smoker who still needs something to fiddle with …

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 28th June, 2019.

28th June, 2019.

I’m right, aren’t I … ?   Aren’t I right … ?

No, honestly, I’m right!

Apple’s share price got a dent … !

Maybe not a big one, but none the less, a dent.

Why?

Because Chief Design Officer, Jony Ive — the man behind the original PowerBook, the iMac, iPod, iPhone, iPad, practically anything with Apple’s logo on it, including the upcoming MacPro, along side the early versions, and the PowerMacs that preceded it — is leaving Apple.

And will be forming his own design company.

OK, granted, his new company’s main client will be Apple.

But that’s a hell of a blow for the company.

With possibly the only comparison?

Being the death of Steve Jobs …

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 28th June, 2018

28th June, 2018.

Hmmm …

Money, money, money …

Right at the moment … ?

I’m on Universal Credit, as you may or may not know.

Not much: but usually enough to help with the rent.

Even then, I’m begging, borrowing and stealing from anyone that’ll let me have money.

It’s a variable amount: the more I earn, the less I get in benefit.

Of course, if it’s a long month, where there’s — effectively — five paydays?

As there’s been for me, this month … ?

That counts as ‘the more I earn.’

Right at the moment … ?

I’m looking at a very tight month …

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 28-6-2017

Bugger!

He says, with all due respect to his readers!

I’m due an appointment, today.

From a gas engineer paid for by my landlord: who’s due to do a gas safety check on my boiler.

When I actually booked the visit?

I was convinced I had today off.

I actually double checked the rota, last night.

Yep.

I’m working today.

Yes: I’ve bought the correct train tickets!

And, yes: I’m going to have to send a few emails.

I’m going to have trouble making this!

~≈ß≈~

Oh, just as a final point?

Just as a final point, I note Britain’s launched its newest aircraft carrier: the HMS Queen Elizabeth.

Which I seem to recall saw a lot of arguments about budgets.

It’s also got another potential issue.

Apparently, there’s at least one computer on there that’s still running Windows XP: an operating system that Microsoft no longer issues security updates for.

I don’t think it’s going to cause problems.

But all it takes is one smartarse to do damage to that one last system … !
