It’s Thursday: but you knew that!

And it’s also the day after I’ve managed to pick up the test strips that go with my blood sugar monitor.

I can excitedly jab my fingers: and test my blood sugar levels.

Once the lancets turn up!

You’re possibly aware that two school children have been killed: in a mass shooting in Minneapolis.

The shooter’s motives are unknown: although there’s talk of an online video.

I’ll be honest … after hearing about another mass shooting, one whose victims were in a church, celebrating the start of a new school year, I did something I very rarely do.

I prayed.

No, I’m not especially religious: but I prayed to whoever’s up there.

Prayed that the USA finally decides to change the Constitution’s Second Amendment, the one that allows private US citizens to own weapons.

I realise that’s not simple: that there’s a whole body of US law, and US court judgements, built on that amendment.

But … ?

The fact the right to bear arms is included in the Constitution, and, ultimately, allowed the shooter to legally buy the guns he killed and injured children?

The fact it allows that?

Means the Second Amendment has to change.

Right then … 

One peril of unemployment when you have chronic conditions … is that, occasionally, you have to have a meeting with a work coach.

My next one … ?

Is today: by phone, at 11:40.

I’m expecting it to be polite … but not necessarily productive*.

Hmmm … 

It turns out my nephew fancies a new phone for Christmas.

Nice … bar the fact I’ve seen the price of the model he fancies!

Put it this way:

• He doesn’t want the newly released Barbie phone.
• He does want one that’s considerably more expensive than the new Mac I got, this year!

Kids, eh … ?

That’s a bugger!

Or, at least, that’s an almost nasty bugger.

I got home, last night.

Cooked myself something to eat.

Chicken kiev, if you’re wanting to know: a cheap one by Birdseye.

And … ?

Sat down happily eat dinner, got myself an early night, not long afterwards.

Getting up this morning … to find I’d not actually turned off my oven, last night … 

There’s — thankfully — no damaged done: beyond to my electricity bill and dignity.

But, boy … I’m going to have to keep an eye open for that!

Ye GODS … 

I’m tired … !

Which will probably show up in my typing.

But there you go.   That’s what happened the morning after ten hour shift.

And on the day of another one!

I will give our new manager credit: next week’s shifts are short … but far more to my taste.

Frankly, though … ?

Even though it’s going slowly, I’m new job turns up at some point.

These long, late night shifts are murder … !
