Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 16th December 2025.

16th November, 2025.

Right then … I am expecting to have a quiet day, today: happily making videos.

And — possibly — getting some sleep: I was up, late, babysitting my nephew.

Who was interested to that games company, Valve, has introduced its own games console: one that doubles up as a regular PC.

Albeit one running SteamOS, rather than Windows.

We’ll have to see if that catches his attention …

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 16th November 2024.

16th November, 2024.

Right … exciting things have been known to happen.

On Fridays, certainly.

My nephew was over, last night: and managed to upload another game video.

If you’d like to press the ‘Like’ button?

He’d thank you for it.

On other fronts?

I’ve actually had a thing fitted: to help me get into the bath.

It’s basically a bath mounted office chair I can sit in, and swivel around.

The only minor problem … ?

I need a step-stool to get to it!

Ho … … hum … !

~≈🛀🏼≈~

Oh, I’ve got a delivery coming: from Apple.

And had a message, via WhatsApp, from DHL: to let me know it’s on it’s way, and that I’d need to sign for it.

It’s genuine: I have checked.

But … ?

I did manage to check the tracking number DHL gave me.

The package … … … was in Shenzhen, in China.

深圳市, for heaven’s sake!

When I checked, a few hours later … ?

It was in Hong Kong.

I hate to use the word ‘premature’.

But the word, ‘premature’, springs to mind!

Especially as the package arrives at Stansted, next week … !

~≈📦≈~

Just as a last thought … ?

I’ve officially been sent a letter from Brentwood Council: giving me a refund of Council Tax.

Which is nice.

But … ?

You can take the bills into your local post office: and pay them there.

There’s a bar code on the things that lets you do that.

There’s a bar code on the refund that should — in theory — let us claim the refund at a post office.

But?   According to the phone conversation I had with a worker at Brentwood Council?

We can’t.

We have to have the refund paid into a bank, and apply online.

I can appreciate it’s a security thing.

But, frankly?

There’s a good chunk of my neighbours who aren’t going to be able to do that.

They’re not computer literate enough: even for a comparatively simple task like this.

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 16th November 2023.

16th November, 2023.

Right … it’s now Thursday: the day before Friday.

When BBC 1 will be airing it’s Children-in-Need Telethon.

Frankly?

The Dr Who special that’s due to air, as part of it, looks interesting.

Especially as one featured character looks like he’s wearing a Genesis of the Daleks era uniform.

Genesis of the Daleks era, Kaled, uniform.

This could be interesting.

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 16-11-2022 — Oklahoma.

16th November, 2022: Oklahoma.

It’s a news day.

Or possibly, a news day.

For one thing?

My most recent written and video review — of the second episode of The Abominable Snowmen — is up.

As is my nephew’s most recent video.

Jude’s friend Jaskaran … ?

Is ever-so-slightly shy, I should add!

At any rate … ?

Feel free to like them, and share them!

~≈📽️≈~

Secondly?

And I realise it’s something of a punt …

But, in light of the fuss around Twitter, I’ve joined rival social network, Mastodon.

I’m still intent on using Twitter: I’ve built up a small following, including both regular readers, Olga and Debbi.

But, given the fuss and given I know a couple of people on there?

I felt it worth a go.

So you know?   Mastodon is made up of several federated modules: called servers.

I’m on one called Mastodon World.

So my Mastodon handle is @Cuddy2977 if you’re on that one: and @Cuddy2977@mastodon.world, if you’re on a different server.

That’s how you can go and find me.

I can also invite you.

From what I’m told?   The mobile Mastodon apps are very experimental, right now: but the site works well in a desktop browser.

Feel free to join up …

Just as a final thought … ?

Missiles hit Poland, last night.

Quite from where, no-one seems sure.

It’s worrying: as Poland has pointed ou that these were Russian made missiles.

Although no-one’s saying if these were deliberately aimed at Poland from Russia: or were Russian missiles that had been shot down by Ukraine anti aircraft missiles, landing in the neighbouring country by accident.

However?

That’s one hell of a worry.

If it can be shown that it was a deliberate move by Russia?

The could well trigger something nasty …

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 16th November, 2021.

16th November, 2021.

Yes: it’s a Tuesday.

A day that includes many things.

It doesn’t include knee exercises — that’s Wednesdays, Thursdays, and the weekend — for which I’m vaguely thankful.

It’s a chore.

It does include the regular meeting with my Work Coach, my Job Centre case worker.

That’s …

Well, we’ve a few things to discuss.

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 16th November, 2020

16th November, 2020.

Right …

As I write … ?

I’ve got the Children in Need version of University Challenge on, courtesy of Youtube.

Which is rather fun.

Although I have to say, the BBC seem to be ahead …

~≈†≈~

At any rate … ?

At any rate: 11 o’clock, today, sees me having another meeting with my Shaw Trust case worker.

Granted, they turned me down for a laptop: but I will give my case worker his due, he’s been digging up the occasional potential job.

I haven’t got them … but at least he’s found something.

~≈†≈~

Oh … with that said … ?

I’ve got an assessment, tonight: at a local adult education centre: for the European Computer Driving License course …

I’m nervous … but more worried about getting there!

Hey ho!

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 16-11-2019: Blunt

16th November, 2019.

You know, I get the feeling something’s happening that I’m not getting told about.

I — finallyish — had my boiler fixed, yesterday.

It seems to be giving me both heating and hot water.

But … ?

Having had the supervisor down — who told me the element needed replacing — the the engineer, yesterday — who told me the job looked like it would take up to three hours, then took half an hour to replace a sensor, and then told the boiler still needed replacing — I’m getting the feeling there’s a lot of …

If you’ll excuse the language, I’m getting the feeling there’s a lot of crap being talked.

~≈§≈~

Hmmm …

Can I make a confession?

I’m not a fan of the BBC’s Children in Need charity shindigs.

So … ?   Last night, I had V for Vendetta on, instead: whilst writing a few teasers, and adding questions to my quiz spreadsheet.

Ha!   That thing used to fit on a floppy disk, many years ago.

There was a Dr Who themed piece, though: for a little girl called Anastasia, who needed up getting her own Sonic Screwdriver.

Which is nice.

I’m … hmmm … just a touch disappointed they team didn’t write and produce a themed scene: as they’ve done in earlier years.

Oh, well …

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 16th November, 2018

16th November, 2018.

Yes: the job situation has left me feeling definitely a bit …

You know …

Glum.

Which, to be frank?

Is nothing new.

I suffer with a mild form of depression: and tend to want to sleep a lot as a result.

Or, at least, feel a lot of fatigue and tiredness.

Personally, if I look glum, the next time you spot me?

Say ‘Hello.’

That helps …

~≈§≈~

With all the spare time?

I’ve had the television on, a lot.

Frankly?

I can be odd without it for the radio on.

Of course, I had the news channel on.

Of course, the BBC broadcast the Prime Minister’s Brexit Statement: the one she made, yesterday, announcing the details of the Brexit Deal she’s finalised.

I had that on … because frankly?   It’s important.   The only way we find out how we’re getting of the EU, is to keep an eye on this.

What shocked me — and I’ll apologise for sound and vision not being exactly matched — was when one MP — arch-Brexiteer, Jacob Rees Mogg — asked this.

In other words?

What he’s asked the PM … ?

In the middle of the House of Commons, in a completely — as far as I know — unprecedented way.

Is if he could start a leadership challenge.

Someone’s in trouble.

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 16-11-2017

Right …

It’s Thursday …

Which means several things.

Frankly?

I’ve got a day off, today.

That means?

I’ve got to get an early night, tonight: as I’ve got an nine o’clock start, tomorrow.

Which certainly implies just one episode of The Strain.   Par for the course, in one sense: it’s what’s been happening for the past couple of nights.

As a last thought … ?

I’m feeling slightly rushed.

As, at eleven, today?

I’ve an appointment at the dentist.

I’m feeling a little rushed: and nervous.

But hopeful.

I’m hoping it’ll be the day this tooth comes out … !

Class: Series 1 — Episode 5 - Brave-ish Heart

16th November, 2016

It’s official … it’s a Wednesday.

One I’ve had off …

And spent time writing, ironing, with one friend …

Oh …

And catching up with a TV show …

Yes: before you ask …

I sat myself down with the most recent episode of Class.

OK …

The fight scene dragged …

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 16-11-2016

You know, I’ve said it for years: that more building in the area will cause problems.

As you may or may not know?

There’s an area around the corner from my street: where developers have been granted planning permission to build extra flats.

Over the strong objections of residents.

Including myself.

Unfortunately?

The various objections have been ignored: and work is to go ahead.

The area has been boarded up.

And, as you can see?

That car, on the left, makes things difficult for pedestrians to get past.

It’s worse at night. when more cars are parked on the pavement.

On both sides of the street.

Going on my own experience?

Once those flats are completed, and people have moved in, congestion in the area will increase, significantly.

I don’t know where that will lead …

But am still convinced that this will seriously impede emergency vehicle access to my area, and contribute to someone’s death.
