Right then … it’s another Monday.

Which means it’s another day at the proverbial races: I’m off to my regular weight management meeting, to see how I’ve done.

Hopefully, I’ll’ve lost some.

And will probably announce the results on the various social media … unless my weight’s gone up …

Monday is also the day before Tuesday.

You knew that, along with everyone else.

For me, personally?

It means it’s the day before payday.

I’m looking forward to that: I want to get a haircut, at some point.

In this heat?

That’s sensible: at least it is, to me!

As I write, American planes have flown over Iran, trying to bomb people.

What do I mean, ‘trying’: they have bombed people.

Several sites that Iran has allegedly used to enrich uranium, for atomic bomb manufacture.

Does the US, or Israel, have proof of that … ?

Proof they’d be willing, if not happy, to share?

I doubt it.

I feel this is the Gulf War, all over again: bombings, death and damage … on spurious grounds.

Yes: it’s officially Thursday, and the day before Friday.

Payday, in other words.

I’m looking forward to that: paying the bills, and stocking up the fridge, would be nice.

I may just be able to Afford a haircut, as well!

I’m applying for extra benefits.

I don’t know if I’ll end up with anything, but can try.

At any rate?

The paperwork I’ve sent in has been accepted.

And I’ve got an assessment — by phone — in July.

Right … it’s Wednesday: and the day before pay day.

I hate the day before pay day: it’s a wait, before you can pay your bills.

It’s also the day before I’m due a visit from a plumber: just to double check on my sink.

Today … ?

Is also the day I’m expecting a repairman from my landlords: to try and fix the door on my letterbox.

AND doing a Zoom course arranged by the Restart programme I’m on.

All that, and go into town to get stuff.

Do you get the feeling I’m going to be busy?

Nothing a cloth couldn’t solve.

I’m getting old … !

I like TV: and will happily admit I’m not a sports fan.

So, normally?

Don’t watch football.

And TEND to ignore tennis, as well.

But … ?

Did notice that the BBC iPlayer will be screening this years Wimbledon championship in glorious 4K.

Via the iPlayer.

Frankly?

Long may that reign.

Again, I’m thinking of the pub game, here: where, in all of the fourteen years I was pulling pints, management’s biggest cost — out side of beer, food and staff? — was TV subscriptions.

Just as an example?   I worked in one pub where the area manager decided to cut cost for the year, and cancel its Sky TV subscription.   We lost half a dozen potential customers that first day: all of whom walked in, asked if we were showing the next big game … 

And walked out, just as quickly, when they found out we couldn’t.

So the fact that the BBC is airing World Cup games, and the upcoming tennis, for free, to anyone with a smart TV, or TV box?

Including pubs?

Is only good.
