Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 16th June, 2026.

16th June, 2026.

It’s Tuesday: and I’ve had a bad start to the day.

Pages, triggering another bout of overheating, audio components of a video project, vanishing, absolutely no birdsong … !

All that … ?

And I have to head up Warley Hill, to pick up some medication, buy sausages … and get bread … !

Combine that with the speed webpages seem to be loading, today?

Means the sooner my anxiety levels go down, the happier I’ll be!

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 16th June 2025

16th June, 2025.

I’m up early, again!

Yay!

As ever, I’m off to my weight management group.

And, after the weight going up, last week … ?

I’m hoping it’s down, this week!

Ho … … … Hum … !

~≈Ω≈~

That said … ?

I’m going to be getting some exercise, today.

Because … ?

I’ve got diabetic blood test … again.

Hopefully?

They won’t get lost in the system: and I’ll remember to not leave my spectacles there … !

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 16-6-2024 — Sussex

16th June, 2024: Sussex.

Sundays!

It’s officially Sunday!

Which means, of course, that we’re all filled with the joys of spring.

Yeah, right … !

At any rate … ?

I’ve finished both a written and video review of yesterday’s episode of Dr Who: and feel pleased about it.

Feel free to hit the ‘Like’ button!

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 16th June, 2023.

16th June, 2023.

Right …

To quote the David Essex character in Jeff Wayne’s War of The Worlds?

I’VE GOT A PLAN!”

Although not one that involves living in sewers.

At ANY rate … ?

It’s about time I sat down with some more Star Trek: as series two of Star Trek Strange New Worlds started, last night.

If nothing else, La’an Noonien Singh having a drinking contest with Klingons could be fun!

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 16th June, 2022.

16th June, 2022.

I love emails.

Well, that’s possibly too strong a way of putting it.

They’re something I find handy.

So, waking up this morning: and opening my email client to find it wasn’t downloading them?

Was a bit annoying!

A quick check with Downdetector shows there’s been issues, there.

I imagine we’ll never find out what happened, there: but I’d love to find out.

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 16-6-2021: Sussex Day.

16th June, 2021.

Yes!

I’m now officially boiling washing some t-shirts!

Even as we speak, I’ve got the oven on, with the Official Big Pot happily working away.

Boiling t-shirts that got half done, yesterday: when my washing outright died on me.

Thankfully?

I’m getting some help to pay for an engineer: he’s coming on Friday.

Hopefully?

It’s going to be something cheap …

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 16th June, 2020.

16th June, 2020.

Hmmm …

Clearing my caches, yesterday?

Seemed to help me upload the day’s intro video on yesterday’s Daily Teaser.

Today … ?

I’m back to uploading the thing to YouTube …

So I can embed it here.

What’s happening?

I don’t know.

Given it’s also happening in Firefox?

It’s either Google’s fault … or something to do with the current version of macOS, the much sworn at Catalina.

I’m … well, I’m in a bind … !

~≈Ω≈~

I have to admit, I’ve just had a look at my Instagram page.

Seemingly?

I’m now being followed by someone calling themselves daniellecaron9.

She’s got just one photo: her profile pic.

Just one photo.

My limited experience of Instagram … ?

Is telling me she’s a romance scammer.

We’ll have to see, won’t we?

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 16-6-2019: The Wicked Weed

16th June, 2019.

Yep: I do bedtime reading …

Which possibly isn’t surprising, all things considered.

You’ve possibly worked out I like a good book, by now.

And, last night … ?

I managed to get started on Micheal Moorcock’s Mother London.

Two chapters in … ?

It’s looking good.

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 16-6-2018: Our Ford and Master.

16th June, 2018.

Yep … I’ve got the weekend off!

Tonight … ?   Actually seems me off at a posh (ish!) family meal: celebrating my sister, Anna‘s birthday.

At Brentwood’s only Thai restaurant.

Which looks good.

Although I HAVE to admit … I couldn’t tell you how to pronounce the names!

~≈§≈~

While we’re here … ?

Or, at least, you’re there, and I’m here?

You’re aware that I’ve been concerned about the possibilities of fire in my area: and others.

And seen the various fires reported by the BBC over the past few days.

The one today … ?

Is in Glasgow.

At the School of Art.

For the second time in four years: it, and the Mackintosh Building were being restored after that that last fire, and were due to re-opened next year.

It’s hard to see.

What’s harder … ?

Is the simple question.

“How did this happen … again?”

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 16-6-2017

I have to confess, I’ve a bee in my bonnet.

Mostly?

Because of the Grenfell Tower fire.

Frankly?   As you’ll know, if you’ve been following Nik Nak’s Old Peculiar for a while, I’ve been concerned about fire safety on my street — Rollason Way — for some time.

Specifically, with emergency vehicle access.

One thing I ALSO know?

I’ve written a letter to my local paper: and it sounds like they want to have a natter about it.

As part of that?

I thought I’d check my building: to at least double check that it had no fire exit.

It doesn’t.

Neither does Watson Court, over the road, nor Torville Court, next door.

Yes, I know there’s an exit at the back of Damon House.   I bloody well campaigned ’til it got put there!   It’s not — strictly — a fire exit: it’s there to give tenants access to their gas meters.

But in theory?   We could go out that way, if needed.

But there’s no equivalent in the two other buildings I looked at.

There’s also no fire extinguishers, or a communal sprinkler system, in the communal areas.

Whether there’s supposed to be?

Whether they’d help?  (And I have my doubts about sprinklers.)

I don’t know.

But, in the light of the flames from Grenville Tower?

The lack seems odd.

I know, this, though.

The door that allows I and my neighbours to access our gas meters was put in by the original builders: put in, and paid for, by Crest Nicholson.

I get the feeling any retro-fitting that needs doing?

Will generate an argument about who’s paying.

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 16-6-2016

Right … then …

It’s a Thursday: and one where I’m off.

And frankly … ?

One where I’ve actually finished watching series two of The Strain … !

And, while I don’t know if — on a technical level — it’s as good as Penny Dreadful, it is a very good action piece: one that romps along at a fantastic pace, keeping its viewers — or me, at least — thoroughly engaged.

And all the better for that!
