I was going to sell on a recently bought, 4k, import copy of V for Vendetta: having ripped it over the week.

But … ?

The Romford branch of CeX wouldn’t take it.

As it had no UK age classification on it!

I used to work at the Brentwood branch, who had a similar policy.

And … ?

I wish I’d remembered that, when I bought the thing.

It would’ve made the trip worth the time!

Just as a related thought … ?

I use MakeMKV to copy discs, and Handbrake to recode those into something I can play on my Apple TV 4k.

One of these days, I’ll try and write about the process, I really will!

At any rate?

The two apps are available for macOS, Windows and GNU/Linux.

But not, going by the websites, for ChromeOS.

Something I was able to confirm with my ChromeBook owning nephew.

At least, Jude was able to tell me the two apps aren’t on the Chrome Web Store.

I believe they’re not available for various reasons: but suspect the developer terms for ChromeOS are partly responsible.

I believe Google wants to keep piracy to a minimum, so words its Terms and Conditions to prevent apps like these on its Store.

Personally … ?

I think that’s a shame.

Those of us who use these apps for legitimate purposes should have a choice of what platform to use.

At any rate … ?   I’m due a phone call: from the Work and Health programme.

And another, an hour later, for the training course I’m on.

Busy, busy, busy … !

2nd October, 2020.

Yes: I’m going to be officially doing stuff, today.

And yes: that’s going to involve making videos!

Frankly, that’s going to take all day!

I’m not a US citizen: the English accent is possibly a clue, there.

As such, I couldn’t vote in US elections.

Either way … ?

I’m not a fan of President Trump.   His Vice President, Mike Pence, seems more Presidential.   Even though I’m told Pence has views considered slightly to the right of Adolf Hitler.

Trump, himself … ?   Seems … too quick with his mouth, to quick to speak, without checking facts, for me to feel confident about him as leader of an allied nation.

His debating style … ?   Is way too aggressive.

As for the Covid situation?

He’s always come across as deeply sceptical.   Seemingly encouraging White House staffers to not wear masks: and helping — in theory — spread the condition.

In theory?

I should cocoa!

He and First Lady, Melania, have both contracted Covid-19.

That’s very convenient timing!

Considering that — in the wake of the first Presidential Debate, this year? — rules have changed: to stop candidates interrupting each other.

It looks like a convenient, reasonable, polite, Covid-secure way of throwing his toys out of his pram.

Hmmm … 

That seemed to go well … 

Did I tell you I had a phone interview, on Tuesday … ?

Well, I had a phone interview on Tuesday: which went well enough that I bagged the second stage interview.

An in-person one on Monday.

On top of that … ?

I had an initial one, at the local Job Centre, yesterday.   For a local bookies.

Which ALSO went fairly well.

At least well enough that I had to go online to apply: seemingly, the interviewer is going to rush me through to a face-to-face interview.

All well and good, if it happens.

I can, at this stage … ?   Well … all I can do is quietly hope, on that front.

And prepare, as well as I can, for Monday’s interview.

Here’s hoping that goes well.
