This time of year, the inevitable Nativity scenes go up: and, in Catalonia?

There’s usually a Caganer: a ‘shitter’, in other words.

I have to confess, I don’t usually do Christmas decor … but having one in the window would certainly surprise people!

In all honesty, though?

I’m not too worried.

The only disappointment is the fact my Mac doesn’t have a Caganer emoji.

I just don’t know where’s going to be open in the run up to Christmas: and I’d hate to have to leave it … !

Classic Doctor Who — The War Games In Colour — A Review

23rd December, 2024: The War Games In Colour.

The Introduction.

It’s officially the case that Dave Brubeck is playing in the background.

The Time Out LP, if you must know.

It’s something I find vaguely meditative.

I’ve also got dinner cooking.

Fish and chips.

Yes: I like others, usually have that on Fridays.

But … ?

I wanted to make room in the fridge.

I’ve been shopping, today … !

It’s the 23rd December: and we’re two days away from this year’s Dr Who Christmas special, Joy to the World.

Something I’m looking forward: and assume that you are, too.

But, first … ?

BBC Four are showing an edited, colourised, version of The War Games, Patrick Troughton’s last story.

I’m interested in watching it: partly to see how the thing compares to last year’s The Daleks In Colour.

And partly to see how a story that — as originally broadcast — ran to some two hundred and fifty or so minutes … services the editing process!

This review … ?

Will be live tomorrow: I’m planning to sleep in between now and then … !

It is Monday.

Normally, that means I’d be up early: to head for my weigh management meeting.

But that’s off: until 6th January.

I’ve mixed feelings.

I’d like to keep track of my weight, after all.

Sleeping in is a nice alternative …

BBC Four will be airing a colourised version of The War Games, Patrick Troughton’s last story as Doctor Who, tonight.

At nine o’clock.

When — or if — it’s getting a blu-ray release?

Or an overseas airing, through the Dr Who Classic channel on YouTube?

I don’t know.

But I’d be interested to see what’s included on the blu-ray version.

I felt last’s year The Daleks In Colour release to be a touch … underwhelming.

Right ... it's Saturday, the day after my iMac was supposed to be repaired.

So ... ?

You're possibly expecting me to tell you I've brought it home, safe, well, and working.

Unfortunately?

You'd be wrong.

They've managed to fix the power supply which was causing the main problem.

But?

Apparently, the screen's having trouble: and they have to get a component.

Understandably?   I'm not pleased.

Especially given the time of year.

It's adding time to the process that I'm definitely unhappy with!

It still means that — after dinner — I have time to watch a movie.

I’ve a pretty good idea of what I want to watch … but will let what I’ve seen — and what I though of it — tomorrow night.

One that vanished by the time I got to my desktop, to double check.

I’ve managed to track down the person’s whose name was on the thing, just to let them know there’s possibly an issue.

I read that parts of the US Government have been shut down: after a row in Congress about funding for Trump’s Mexican Wall.

Frankly?

I’ve never seen something similar happen, here.

The UK government doesn’t work that way.

Frankly, I think if it DID … ?
