Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 6-2-2025 — New Zealand (Ten Questions)

6th February, 2026: New Zealand.

Right … it’s Friday.

But you knew that, already.

I’ve taken my weekly dose of Mounjaro.

But you’d guessed I’d be doing that, too.

Just as equally … ?

I possibly need to go out, too: light shopping and healthy exercise calls.

But … ?

It’s throwing down, out there … !

As a last thought … ?

An old friend is a Kiwi expat: and sent this photo:

Cheers, Donna!

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 6th February, 2025.

6th February, 2025.

Right … the figures are in!

January, 2025, has been the warmest January on record!

I’m tempted to say ‘YAY!’ but realise that’s not necessarily appropriate.

Especially given the general feeling that the climate change this is part of … is our own damn fault!

At any rate … ?

The figures are in: showing the temperature is rising …

And I’m wondering why on Earth my heating bills are going up … !

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 6-2-2024 — The National Day of the Sámi

6th February, 2024: the Sámi.

Right … Tuesdays exist!

You know it: I know it!

We know it!

Yeah, OK, Paul enough of the burbling!

It’s Tuesday: so that means it’s the day after I finished a review of episode 1 of classic Dr Who story, The Underwater Menace.

Feel free to hit the like button on there!   Or share it … or something … !

On a more serious note?

Today is the first date that those of us who are eligible, will receive the last Cost of Living payment.

The scheme will pay us between now, and the 22nd of this month.

That?

Is due to be the last payment people will receive.

I’m looking forward to getting it: it’s a lifeline.

But fully expect it to be the last of such payments.

Unless the Chancellor does something spectacular in this year’s budget, in March.

That … ?

Is two days before my birthday: it would be nice if something positive happened!

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 6-2-2023 — Massachusetts.

6th February, 2023: Massachusetts.

Yes: it’s officially Monday.

And … ?

I’ll have a video review up, later.

I managed to catch the first episode of For All Mankind’s first series, last night.

And came away mildly impressed.

I’ll post it and the written review, later.

~≈¥≈~

I’m due to be at a phone hearing on the 8th: by phone, at 14:45.

At least, in theory, on the 8th, by phone.

I checked my online account, yesterday: and it seems that the hearing is still on the 8th.

At King’s Lynn Magistrate’s Court.

I’m hoping that’s a typo!

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 6-2-2022: The Queen.

6th February, 2022.

OK: confession time.

I made today’s intro video, when I had the radio on: and — at that point on a Sunday morning? — On Your Farm was on.

Complete with an Article about a family of dairy farmers.

With — I should add — cows.

Going moo.

Understandably: it’s a herd of cows, after all.

The reason I mention it … ?

Is that it still amazes me, what catches your attention on a Sunday morning.

~≈Û≈~

I’ve got to confess, I helped a friend out, this week.

By giving them some large-ish video files: on a USB stick.

He wanted to send them to a friend of his: via Dropbox.

However?   Something happened: the files wouldn’t play.

But DID … when I sent them to him through WeTransfer, and he downloaded them.

And also did so … when I sent them to two other people … but not to a third!

I’m thinking there’s all sorts  going on.

But the safest thing to say … ?

Is that somewhere in transit, those files got damaged, or corrupted.

Something’s gone wrong somewhere, in other words.

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 6-2-2021: Days

6th February, 2021.

I have to admit, I started prepping up today’s Teaser post: at silly o’clock in the morning.

At the time?   There was a light on, in the station carpark, over the road from my flat.

Quite what workmen were doing there, I don’t know.

But it looked atmospheric.

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 6-2-2020: Thursday

6th February, 2020.

I think I’ve got it …

It’s her damn voice!

I’ve had Sophie Ellis Bextor’s Murder on the Dance Floor banging around my head for a couple of days, now.

Why it started?

I’m blowed if I know!

Still, it could be worse.

It could’ve been The Name Game …

I had that going around my head for a month and a half!

~≈†≈~

I have to say, while I was writing my review of yet another episode of For All Mankind, last night?

The sad news that actor and producer, Kirk Douglas, died floated across my timeline …

My thoughts are with his family.

Along with the admission that — much to my shame — I’ve never actually seen a Kirk Douglas movie.

I might have to do something about that: although it does seem a touch late …

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 6-2-2019: The Crash

6th February, 2019.

Yes: I’ve had the bad news from BT.

I’ve not been picked for a second interview.

I am …

Not surprised, somehow.

As the next stage of the process was the online assessment I took, yesterday.

It was one of those with three components.

Part one’s a timed numeracy and detail matching test.

I get the feeling I do well on these: any deficiencies on the time I believe is countered by my basic ability with maths and detail.

Part two?

An audio based section on customer services that, again, I think I did well with.   Especially after this many years in customer facing roles.

Part three?

Was one of those tests where you get a series of statements, with with a range of multiple answers: ranging from ‘Strongly Agree’ to ‘Strongly Disagree’.

I hate these tests: and never get through them.

Tests like these are something I don’t know how to navigate: or, at least, navigate with a good enough result to counter any of my failings in the first and second parts.

Frankly?

My next appointment with the Job Centre is tomorrow.

I think I might want a LONG chat with my work coach.

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 6-2-2017

Hmmm …

That’s awkward: but about what I was expecting.

Where’s we’ve had some new recruits at work?

My hours have gone down.

OK: right now?

Only from thirty-five to thirty-three hours a week.

Which loses me some money.

On the other hand?

It get’s me a day off.

Hmmm …

Think I’d’ve preferred the cash: it means I can start saving up.

Normally, I wouldn’t say this …

But I hope someone goes ill …

I’d appreciate the money!

The Daily Teaser — 6-2-2016

Right … I can officially say I’m looking forward to finishing both Stormbringer, and Weaveworld.

Although Weaveworld is a bit of a big beast … !

The reason I mention this … ?

Is that I’ve ordered a short story collection called Press Play To Start: one with a video games theme.

I’d like to read it … because there’s a contribution from noted video games writer Rhianna Pratchett.

Yes … she’s his daughter: frankly … ?

That’s why I’m getting it.

I’m a fan of  her father: and felt I’d like to see how she does.

I suspect she’s picked up some of the family talent.

That’s just going on her current record …
