I’d just taken a quick glance outside: noting the fact that the trees in the area weren’t swaying in the breeze.

Please pay attention to the word, ‘weren’t.’

Of course, I’ve got Radio Four on: as ever, today’s service is a little too happy-clappy for my taste.

Well … not so much happy-clappy as AOR themed praise and worship songs.

Give that old time religion, and I’d possibly be complaining less.

At any rate, I was listening to Radio Four, when the weather report came on.

Yep … 

My part of the world’s now ended up with a yellow weather warning: for wind.

It’s getting blowy, again …

And yes, I am knackered … !

Frankly?

I’m blaming late night episode of Penny Dreadful: City of Angels.

Saying that … ?   And I’ve only been saying this for the past ten weeks?

One?   The show’s fantastic.

Two … ?   Natalie Dormer’s worked her rear off.

Three …  … ?   Nathan Lane’s the star of the show.

Whether there’s a second series, I don’t know.

But the producers will have to work, to match this …

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 20-7-2019: Walking on the Moon.

Right … 

I have an internal hard drive to get rid of.

Which usually means one thing.

Selling it to my local branch of CeX?   Is my usual course of action.

However, with the hard drive in question?

The las time I took the thing into Brentwood CeX, there was a problem.

Apparently?

The hard drive only had one partition, called an EFI boot partition: and nothing else.

Now, I have to admit, that piece of news … was something I wasn’t sure I liked: as I wasn’t sure I could do anything about it.

As soon as I got back home?

I posted a question to the relevant Apple forum: and got an answer that looks helpful.

OK, streaming services.

There’s a few, isn’t there?

It looks like the UK will get another one … come October.

Something I know the BBC have wanted to do for years, is use the iPlayer — the BBC’s catch up service — as an international streaming service: alone the lines of Netflix.

Which never caught on.

However, Aunty Beeb has worked with ITV.   To introduce a streaming service called Britbox: to sell British TV content abroad.

And have announced that the service will start in the UK, towards the end of the year.

I have to admit, I’m … slightly concerned.

My worry?   Is that both iPlayer and ITV Hub — ITV’s equivalent to the iPlayer — may be phased out, here in the UK: in favour of a subscription service.

I don’t know about you, but I can’t afford that!

I haven’t had a phone call.

I’ll repeat that … I’ve not had a phone call.

Frankly?   Given one of the calls I’m expecting, this week, not getting a call could be good.

On the other hand?

I had an interview, on Friday:at a local betting shop.

And was expecting a call, yesterday: to let me know how I’d done.

Did I get a call … ?

Did I get a thing … ?

Nope!

I wonder why I bother, sometimes, I really do … !

I saw this place on the BBC’s news channel, yesterday: telling us the late Alan Turing is now going to be commemorated: by having his face on the new, polymer, £50 note.

Personally?

That seems a good way to honour the man who invented the computer.

You know my intro videos are getting more — mildly — ironic, the older I get.

Nice … is possibly not the word.

I got a letter from my GP’s, yesterday: after a recent set of blood tests, relating to my underachieve thyroid.

It turns out that, on top of everything else … ?

I’ve got a vitamin D deficiency: that, apparently, can exaggerate depression, cause fatigue … and cause issues with digestion.

Yeah … nice is possibly not the word …

I’m going to be taping Channel four series, Humans, tonight.

You’ve probably worked out that I’ve got an AppleTV.   And love it to bits.

I’m ALSO aware that Channel 4 has a good reputation for drama.

That’s certainly true.

My only problem?   Is simply that, while every other major TV channel in the UK has a catch up app available for the AppleTV, Channel 4 doesn’t.

Bit of a flaw, Channel 4.

Good … *Yawn* morning, everyone.

Although, saying that?

I actually feel as if I’ve had enough sleep.

Despite being ill, last night: and having the day off.

The guts were playing up, again.

Which means a loss of income, obviously: NOT something I like.

But there we go.

Hopefully?

Hopefully, I’ll be sorted with some sort of permanent position: although, right now?

I’m sceptical about it happening.

The only upside?

The only upside to the day off, yesterday, is simply this.

I managed to catch an entertaining film, last night.

Oh … 

Now THAT’S a tragedy, that really is.

Not the fact that I’ve missed catching a movie, tonight: I can do that at any free moment.

But the reason I thought I’d not.

Quite simply … ?

The fact that news just started to filter in — initially via Stephen Fry on Twitter — of the death of possibly the world’s — certainly the USA’s — most private hero.

Neil Armstrong.

Oh … My … Lord … 

I think in this day and age, there are very few people who could claim to be genuine world shakers.

He and Yuri Gagarin were.

Simply by being the men they were, doing the things they did, they showed us we could go out there.

The world and its people cannot be the same, because of Neil Armstrong.

The rest of us?

Can only be his followers.
