Right … it’s officially the case: that I’m off to my weight management meeting, this morning.

But … ?

I’ve woken up with the phrase, ‘knob celery’, floating around my head.

Why?

I don’t know.

But I’d love to know if there’s a word along the lines of ‘earworm’: that describes a phrase that’s stuck in your head, rather than a song.

The King, along-side Queen Camilla, is to head for the US, today.

For the State Visit that’s been planned since before the shooting at the White House.

Personally?

I’d be comfier if it wasn’t happening.

The 47th President isn’t exactly tactful: and could easily open his gob and say something stupid.

But, beyond that?

I’m concerned that — despite White House reassurances — there’s a chance the King could get shot.

I’d rather he didn’t: practicalities* aside, the political implications would be huge.

YouTube can be strange.

Quite it’s doing this, I don’t know: but … ?

It’s throwing videos of people dancing to M’s “Pop Muzik” at me.

I don’t know.

It’s possibly one of those things … !

I managed to catch “The Well”, yesterday’s episode of Doctor Who.

And … ?

It’s rather good: although I don’t know if my reviews manage to catch that.

I occasionally have a word floating around my head.

Usually?   It’s the word “yurt”.

Today?

It’s “dicastery”: a department of the Curia, the body that runs the Catholic Church.

I’m happy.

Because I know the word’s floating around my head, after the recent death of the Pope.

So that’s something!

It’s officially Wednesday morning.

And the day is looking grotty: and overcast.

Overcast or not?

It’s still the day after I caught The Batman.

I’ll have my review — written and video — up later.

But it’s save to say it’s interesting.

And has interesting references: Alfred — played by Andy Serkis — tells us he’s ‘reminiscing about his days in the Circus.’

I could be wrong: but I’m assuming Alfred’s a former spy in this version of Batman’s story, and that’s a reference to the work of Le Carré.

I know of no-one else who refers to MI6’s head quarters as ‘the circus.’

Right … I’ve had a haircut!

Yesterday, in case you hadn’t guessed.

And, lord, that feels a lot better!

Frankly?   The place I went to when the recent restrictions ended?

Is somewhere I’m going to be avoiding, next time!

You’ll possibly remember, that I was due a meeting, yesterday: with my caseworker from the Work And Health Programme I’m on.

And was supposed to be having that meeting in a community hall, at some distance from my home.

At least, that’s what I’d been told.

It turns out … that my case worker had pushed the wrong button, at his end: and that our meeting was supposed to be a phone meeting.

That was fun.   Given that I’d put a load of washing on, in my extremely noisy washing machine*: in the expectation of being out of the house.

There are times I could spit!

But there was something I wanted to quickly check.

Frankly?

I wanted to just see what sort of green screen effects I could do … without having an actual green screen … 

OK … 

It possibly doesn’t look stunning … 

But at least I can do something …

I’ll happily confess to being an armchair snooker fan: I try and keep up as much I possibly can … but can’t always sit down to watch a frame as often as I’d like.

This year?

This year, one of the few perks of unemployment … is simply the fact I can catch up with the World Championship.

Ronnie getting knocked out in Round one was a shocker.

Another?

Mark Williams — world number three, and current World champion — ended up in hospital, last night!

With chest pains … !

Bloody hell … 

The older players are picking their times!

It seems Rick Dickinson has died in the US: whilst having cancer treatment.

That’s sad: for those of us of a certain age.

Dickinson’s the man that designed the ZX80, ZX81, and ZX Spectrum.

As such?

He’s part of the reason Britain spawned a generation of coders.

He’ll be missed.

That’s before we get to another piece of news.

President Trump is due to visit rhe UK in July of this year.

Can I take this chance to encourage chuck eggs at the silly idiot?

Or, at least, rotten tomatoes.

I’d rather he didn’t turn up, but if he MUST, I’d rather we dropped a hint … !

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 27-4-2017: Of Mice and other Rodents

Hmmm … 

I seem to have lost a day, at work.

I work in a call centre: as a temp worker.

And feel I’ve done well in building up the hours I have.

We HAVE been warned those will charge, though: from the 8th May.

It is, after after all, fairly seasonal work.

I’m quite happily quibbling next week’s rota, though.

The past few months, I’ve worked every Sunday.

Next week?

I have Sunday off.

OK, I know the hours are due to change.

I know I still get help from Universal Credit.

But the Sunday concerned is the 7th.

I can’t help but fell a little aggrieved …

Right … 

I’m off to work, again, today.

On something of a long shift: 12 ’til 8, so you know.

But … ?

Well, I do like to keep my eye on the snooker, if possible: especially when the World Championship’s on, at the Crucible.

Ronnie O’Sullivan — arguably the game’s greatest player — is out: beaten by Barry Hawkins.

And China’s best player, Ding Junhui, is through to the semi-finals.

I hope he gets through — and win — the final.

He’d be China’s first World Champion!
