It’s officially Sunday.

Which means … ?

It’s the day before I get paid, again, and officially go shopping and bill paying!

And the day before I’m off to my weight management class; and the day before I’m expecting a tub of Marmite to turn up.

Do you get the feeling I’m going to be busy … ?

The BAFTAs, Britain’s film awards, are being aired, tonight.

Frankly, I don’t know if I’ll be watching: I’ve a review to finish.

Bur … ?

I know that Sinners, which I reviewed last year, has been heavily nominated.

I don’t know if it’s going to win Best Picture.

But … ?

I hope it does.

It’s rare for science fiction or fantasy to do well at award ceremonies: horror films doing so is even rarer.

It would be nice if one did, for once!

As a final thought … ?

My YouTube feed has just fed me a trailer for an upcoming film called The Yeti.

No, I’m not going to show you the trailer.

Because?

Yes: it’s nice to know someone’s picked up on the Yeti myth, and turned it into a movie.

But the producers have set the film in Alaska … when the ‘real’ Yeti is from the Himalayas.

In Asia.

Asia.

A couple of continents away from Alaska.

If you can phone the producers and sarcastically mention Bigfoot, I’d be grateful!

Have you heard the term, ‘cuckooing’?

It’s where a vulnerable person’s home is taken over by drug dealers: so it can be used as a base.

I’ve known it happen in my area: at least once in Railway Square, Victoria Road/Masefield Court and here on Rollason Way.

It’s not nice, I know that.

I’m thankful that the government’s planning to introduce legislation to make it illegal.

Anything that helps can only be good.

I’ve now assembled … the chair!

Is rather comfortable, but took a lot of swearing to put together.

There is — as with many office chairs — a lever arm that let’s you raise and lower the seat.

Which I think I’ve got on the wrong — ha! — side.

I’m not complaining too much.

It means it’s on the left, instead of the right: and, as I’m left handed … ?

That’s useful … !

There’s a treaty doing the rounds: isn’t there always?

Let’s begin again, there!

There’s a treaty doing the rounds: known as the New START treaty.

One that was signed back in 2010: and designed — from what I’ve understood — to limit nuclear weapons.

Just recently, though?

Russian President, Vladimir Putin, has announced he’s suspending Russian participation in the thing.

I don’t know if that means he can start expanding Russia’s nuclear armoury.

I’m no legal expert …  but I’m wondering if that means he can start using H-bombs in the Ukraine.

That really doesn’t sound like a nice idea … …

It was only when the new iMac announced the time I realised … that it was two o’clock!

Hmmm … 

That’s something … 

I don‘t know about you: but I’m on Facebook.

Have been for years: it’s a useful tool for keeping in touch, and seeking what people are doing.

And the Messenger service is a useful free way of directly contacting people.

One thing that’s annoyed me about Facebook?   Is the way people will quite happily share Like farming scams — especially the ones featuring ill children — that say something like “Hit like and comment Amen, and FB will donate X amount to a fund.”

It annoys me that people could be such mugs!

Thankfully?

Facebook has managed to shut down a couple of accounts: ones that used this photo, along with a claim the pictured child had cancer..

The kid had chickenpox.

I’m thankful for Facebook’s actions.

But ALSO very aware of something else.

It won’t stop the practice.

After all, I can grab the needed photos, very easily.

And if I can do it?

So can you, Tom, Dick, Harry, and Mr Fraudster.

The Daily Teaser — 22-2-2016

Oh, blimey, it’s back!

Did I tell you I’ve an HD Set-top box?   One that lets me record HD channels, SD channels … and, thankfully, radio.

Unlike my TV, which just records TV signals.

Frankly … ?   The thing doesn’t get THAT much use: except when Dr Who is one: I usually end up recording the HD version to a USB stick, in parallel with the SD version my TV can record.

My set-top box’s ability to record radio comes in handy: especially when Radio 4 starts airing my favourite comedies.
