Right, then: I’ve got The Faceless Ones, the reconstructed Dr Who story, on blu-ray.

I’m happy.

And happily ripping it, so that I can watch it later.

Frankly?

It’s the last of the birthday presents to turn up.

And, equally as frankly?   It actually turned up, yesterday.

A day before the formal release.

I’m not complaining.

I will complain — or, at least, make a point — at this stage.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker saw its US release on Friday 13th: a few days early.

US release, I should add.

The UK release?

Is at the end of April.

Personally?

I think that’s not necessarily good.

I think that’s going to encourage people in the UK to download from torrent sharing sites.

But, hey … what do I know … ?

You know … that’s been bubbling under for a few days, now.

In the wake of rape cases being dismissed — over contradictory evidence on victim’s phones — a new consent form has been introduced to all of the UK’s police forces.

One that implies a case will not be prosecuted, if the phone isn’t handed over.

I can’t help but be vaguely sympathetic.

I know getting EVERY piece of evidence is vital for justice to be done.

Especially in sensitive case, like rape.

But to hand over one’s phone, however good the cause?

Seems a little bit invasive.

Did I mention I’m something of an armchair snooker fan?

I’m something of an armchair snooker fan … so you know.

The reason I mention it?

Is simply that the World Championship final is on: it start’s today, and ends, tomorrow.

This year?   It’s Judd Trump vs veteran, John Higgins.

John won at their last championship meeting.

This could be a re-run of that meeting: which saw Higgins winning.?

OR a total whitewash for Trump.

OR go to a last frame decider.

It has to be said … there’s been a couple of them, this year …
