The Daily Teaser — 5-4-2016

Hmmm …

I’m something of a fan of the series, Gotham: although it’s not one I’ve written about.

Something that annoyed me with the first series, here in the UK?

Was the fact that the air dates Channel Five selected for it matched its US air dates, very closely.

And included a mid-season break: something that’s common with US TV stations, but not here in the UK.

That break was something I found incredibly irritating.

And, if events are anything to go by, something other fans have found annoying, to the point of saying so.

Leading to Channel 5 delaying broadcast for a few weeks, in order to air Gotham series 2 in open complete block.

Well done C5!

Well …

ALMOST Well Done.

Last night, Gotham took a one week holiday.

So Channel 5 could show a Neighbours special.

Thanks for that … … … … … …

The Daily Teaser — 12-1-2016

I have to confess, right at the moment?

I’m mildly distracted.

Mostly where I’ve got last night’s episode of Gotham: series 2 started on Channel 5.

I’ve got it on in the background, as I write.

Yes, I know it’s airing at a later date the in the US: but Channel Five have told us it will be aired in one complete go.

Something I’m happy to hear.

I’m also watching several of the inmates break out of Arkham.   Including Jim Gordon’s ex, Barbara.

It’s looking like one HELL of a hairy opening … !

The Daily Teaser — 7-4-2015

Hmmm …

You know I’ve been watching Gotham, don’t you?

I’ve got to admit, as frustrating — extremely frustrating — as I’ve found the mid-season gap?

The actual series itself, is VERY good.

Last night’s episode — the one I’ve got on in the background, now, following, following the Crane family shenanigans — is looking as good as ever.

And quite grim.

I’m not complaining, yet.

Just wondering if Channel 5 has some form of alert for the start of the next series …

The Daily Teaser — 17-3-2015: Saint Patrick and Other Irishness …

Oh, well, now … Gotham’s back on …

Which is nice to know, it has to be said.

And I’ve got to admit, I’ve not — as yet — sat down and watched it.

Something things are more important, And RIGHT at the moment … ?   It’s last night’s episode of Jam a Minute: where Gyles Brandreth’s doing rather well.

But I will sit down and watch it: and the rest of the series.

Whether I’ll watch series 2, is something I don’t know: in part because I don’t watch enough Channel 5 to catch any announcements about future air dates.   But   additionally?

Because that mid-season break is bloody annoying …

The Daily Teaser — 17-2-2015

Oh, now, that’s a disappointment.

You know I’d been watching Gotham, when Channel Five aired the first half, late last year?

Disappointingly?   It wasn’t on, again, this week.

Which left me feeling furious.

Thankfully … ?   Channel Five have just announced the show’s second half will be aired in March of this year: some three weeks after it’s airing in the US.

I’ll be keeping my eyes peeled for it.   However?   This mid-season break has left me feeling very angry.

And thinking “Should I bother watching a second series, if, as and when it airs?   OR other US series?”

Off the top of my head?

I’m thinking “No”.

That mid-season hiatus is just too off-putting.

The Daily Teaser — 11-2-2015

Hmmm …

Did I tell you I’m something of a fan of the TV eerie, Gotham?

You’ve possibly worked that out.

Something that’s annoyed me is the simple fact that the US tv channel that makes it has put on a mid season break.

Which annoys the life out of me.

However … ?

I did notice a tweet go past on my timeline: from actor, Sean Pertwee, who plays Alfred in the series.   This one …

Seems as if the series is back on, in the US.

But on, over here.

As that tweet shows.

Still … ?

Nice to know things are moving onwards.

Here’s hoping!

The Daily Teaser — 9-2-2015

Now, that is STILL annoying …

Were you following the TV series, Gotham, when Channel Five showed the first ten episodes?

Fantastically good stuff, I should stress at this point.   It’s entertaining, has added to the Batman mythos, and has one of the the screen villain: in the shape of Robin Lord Taylor, as the Penguin.

But … ?

Once again, we get to a Monday: the day of the week that Channel Five’s showing it.

And, again, the show isn’t on.

Now, I know it’s not Five’s fault.   I know it’s down to whatever channel show the series in the US.   Gotham, like other US series, is on mid-season hiatus: used by US TV channels to boost a series’ ratings, and any associated advertising revenue.

Personally … ?   Personally, I don’t care.   I’ve always found such breaks to be extremely annoying.

Frankly … ?   Frankly, it’s a similar break was the only reason I stopped watching Agents of SHIELD.

As fine as THAT was … ?   That break was a major turn off, and stopped me watching†.

That isn’t something I want to do with Gotham.

But I’m getting to the point where I’m thinking that — if the second half of the series doesn’t kick start in another week or two — I’ll not bother watching.

Nor watch other, new, US sf serials.

That gap?

Is unacceptable.

The Daily Teaser — 27-1-2015

Hmmm …

Hmmm … … … !

Hmmm … … … … … … … !!!!!!!

It’s Tuesday.

And frankly?   Frankly, Celebrity Big Brother STILL hasn’t finished … !

OK, I’m not complaining too much.

There is, after all, plenty of interesting TV doing the rounds: including the potted history of Magna Carta I’ve got on in the background.

David Starkey always manages to knock out a good one, bless him.

But, guess what?

There’s still no Gotham.

Honk, bloody honk!

The Daily Teaser — 19-1-2015

Hmmm …

Am I the only one who finds that annoying?

I don’t know about you, but I’ve been watching the TV series, Gotham.

And thoroughly enjoying it.

What’s annoyed me, though … ?   Is the fact the show’s on a mid season break: something done by a lot of US TV companies.

Personally … ?

Personally, that’s irritating the hell out of me.

Granted, it’s not fault of Channel Five, the show’s UK distributer.

But I find it annoying.   Having grown up in the UK, where the mid-season break isn’t common, I see a TV series is one whole and entire unit: designed to be watched one episode at a time, over a course of a few months.

Having such a break?   Having such a break is — to me — both annoying, irrational …

And bloody stupid.

The Daily Teaser — 29-12-2014

Hmmm …

That’s annoying …

One series I’ve come to enjoy over the past few weeks, is Gotham: a US import, shown in the UK on Channel Five, and covering the early career of Commissioner James Gordon, a central character of the Batamn comics.

It’s good stuff: and has been doing wonderful stuff with the Penguin.

However … ?   It’s usually screened on a Monday night: and has been off air over Christmas.

Frankly … ?

That’s something that always annoys the hell out of me.

If you’re going to screen a series?

Screen the thing in one go … !!!

Not dribs and bloody drabs!
