Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 18-6-2026 — Paul Eddington

18th June, 2026: Paul Eddington.

OK, it’s officially official.

I like using the word, ‘official’!

But then, you’d possibly worked that out!

At any rate?

My nephew, Jude, has released his latest video.

Feel free to officially hit the ‘Like’ button.

~≈#≈~

It’s also officially the case: that I’m expecting a BT engineer, today.

Or, at least, a BT-Openreach engineer.

He’s due to upgrade my internet line: so I get faster speeds.

I hope so: I’d hate to pay the extra few quid for nowt!

~≈£≈~

A few weeks ago, I got a new game controller for my Apple TV+: a Sony Playstation one, from the Apple website.

And … ?

Haven’t yet sold on the old one, the SteelSeries Nimbus+, as — as far as I knew — it couldn’t be charged.

Neither could the new one.

At least, neither could be charged by hooking them up to my Mac.

I got a charging block for the PS5 controller: which works nicely, I should add.

But, last night … ?

I tried plugging it into the Nimbus.

Which promptly started charging.

And is now — in theory — capable of being connected: back to the Apple TV, or to my Mac.

We’ll have to see.

But … ?

I’m tempted to sell it on to CeX, the next time I head to Romford …

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 18th June 2025

18th June, 2025.

Right … Wednesday …

To be frank, I was expecting to be up, early: I’ve a hygienist’s appointment, after all.

And?

And … ?

I’ve got that bloody song banging through my head, again!

Frankly?

I’m blaming Bill Gates … !

~≈💃🏽≈~

The world could be getting worse …

Right now?

Israel is bombing Iran: to try and disable Iran’s nuclear weapons capabilities.

The US president?   Is, apparently, considering helping out: by proving US bombs, and bombers, to reach the underground facilities where Iran is keeping them.

I’m reminded of the phrase ‘WMD’, Weapons of Mass Destruction, and of the Iraq War.

Iraq, apparently, has weapons capable of reaching both British and American territory.

Claims that, as it turned out, were — what’s the phrase? oh, yes — false.

Lies.

Twaddle.

Bollocks.

Hogwash.

Falsehoods.

Untruths.

Just plain trumped-up.

Frankly?

No country is innocent of being armed.

But?

Israel looks guilty of unwarranted attacks.

And the man in the White House, looks guilty of encouraging them.

~≈💣≈~

Talking of the President?

He’s been on social media, overnight: to threaten Iran’s Supreme leader.

And wrote this on Truth Social:
“We know exactly where the so-called ‘Supreme Leader’ is hiding.   He is an easy target, but is safe there - We are not going to take him out (kill!), at least not for now.”
It’s the sort of empty threat made by wannabe gangsters, plastic gangsters, trying to look hard.

I can only hope the President’s just as plastic.

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 18-6-2024 — Mr McCartney

18th June, 2024: Sir Paul McCartney.

It’s officially official: it’s Tuesday … !

But you knew that.

Personally … ?

I know I’m going to be stuck indoors, this morning.

I’m waiting for a phone call from my surgery, for my latest diabetic review.

Hopefully … ?

I’ll be able to get a replacement for the now unavailable trulicity, quickly.

~≈Ø≈~

You’re possibly very aware that there’s a general election due to take place in the UK: on the 4th July.

And that I’ll be voting Green: because of their offer to increase Universal Credit.

I did notice, however, that John Swinney — the Scottish First Minister — has proposed a social energy tariff: cheap energy prices for those of us on low incomes.

As someone on a cheap internet deal, a cheap deal aimed, again, at those of us low incomes?

I would seriously welcome that!

There’s only one problem.

Mr Swinney’s not standing in Essex: he’s the Scottish First Minister.

Frankly?

Social tariffs are needed south of Hadrian’s Wall, as well as north of it.

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 18th June, 2023.

18th June, 2023.

Yes: it’s officially Sunday.

Which means it’s the day after Saturday.

Which means, yes: I’ve done another review!

Here’s hoping you enjoy that!

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 18-6-2022 — Doing A Delia

18th June, 2022.

It’s got to be said … it’s summer!

You could tell that, yesterday.

Temperatures in Brentwood?   Hit the low thirties.

OK, that’s possibly not as hot as Barcelona: I’m told it hit ~40°C, yesterday.

Thankfully?   It’s supposed to be cooler, today: 23°C, with a possibility of rain.

I hope so: the heat, yesterday, was a bit much.

In Fabric — A Review

18th June, 2021.

OK: you’ve watched the introductory video, haven’t you … ?

I hope so.

If you have, you’ll realise that — at the time I made the thing — I hadn’t made my mind up about what to watch.

Amongst other options?

I had both Lucas’ THX1138, and Besson’s Léon: The Professional.

Something I may catch, another time.

I’ve settled for the Peter Strickland directed Giallo-esque, In Fabric.

Yes: I’m going to bed, and carrying this post on, tomorrow.

But, yes: I think I’ve just seen something amazing …

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 18-6-2021: Waterloo

18th June, 2021.

Right … I had my surgery call, twice, yesterday.

The first time … ?   Was to let me know my thyroid medication would be increased: and to let me know that the pharmacist should be calling today, at the latest.

The second time … ?   Was to let me know the phone number for the people who carry out the diabetic eye check: I can chase that up, myself.

Except, of course … stuff … !

Given the cost of making calls on my landline?   I’d drag my ageing carcass up Warley Hill — with a discreet piece of paper and a pencil, tucked away — and phone them to make an appointment.

Which I’m happy to do.

Except, of course, it’s raining … heavily.

I’m going to have to find somewhere … dry … !

~≈🌳≈~

I’ve got to confess, I’ve been talking to reporter, Piers Meyler.

About various things.

About the phone coverage in the area.   And about access to the building I live in.

I don’t know when that article will be released: the last I knew, Piers was waiting for a couple of phone calls.

I’m assuming one will be from Clarion Housing: my landlords.

Whatever: I do know it’s something I and my neighbours are looking forward to.

One of my neighbours … ?

Has managed to mention this piece from ITV’s news site.

There’s a similar piece — from the end of May — on the BBC’s site.

Damon House is not the only place having issues …

Thursday, 18 June 2020

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 18th June, 2020.

18th June, 2020.

Yes: it’s raining.

Which is possibly the last thing on your mind.

Frankly, though … ?

That means I’ve got some nice cool air coming through the window.

Given last month was fairly warm … ?

That makes for a nice change …

~≈†≈~

One thing I’ve seen doing the rounds?

Is the view that we’re making a martyr of George Floyd: because he’s a convicted criminal, after being gaoled for robbery in 2007, and released in 2011.

I’ve just been sent a message to that effect.

I think that’s deeply offensive to George Floyd’s memory.

It’s saying people convicted of a crime, are incapable of redemption or reform.

It’s saying people convicted of a crime, are incapable of going straight, and living good lives, from then on.

It’s saying people convicted of a crime, deserve to die at the hands of police.

The other point?   He was arrested for passing what the cashier where he was shopping, thought was a bad $20 bill.

That cashier is complicit in George Floyd’s death.

They could — as I, over a long cash handling career was taught to do — have checked it, then said “I’m sorry, this is a bad note, I can’t accept it.   Have you got an alternative way of paying, please?”

A man died … potentially because of racism on the part of the police officer … and possibly because of that cashier’s incompetence.

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 18th June, 2019

18th June, 2019.

Hmm …

I think I’m going to have to redo that overnight test.

I have iffy lungs: and had a test, last week: to check my blood-oxygen levels, overnight.

Which was inconclusive.

So I had to put up another bit of kit, yesterday: to do a more thorough test.

The basic of it: in this photo?

Got strapped onto me at the hospital: leaving me to install the cannulas — the plastic tubes that get inserted into the nose — once I went to bed.

I have to admit, I felt like a pre-op Cyberman, going home.

And have to ALSO admit … I think I have a problem.

The whole idea of the kit is to check while your blood oxygen, while you’re asleep.

Which I couldn’t do.

I couldn’t get off: couldn’t do it.

Ended up angrily taking this mass of wiring off, WAY too early.

I think I’m going to have to see about alternatives …

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 18th June, 2018

18th June, 2018.

I think we can say I’m not a football fan.

No: really: I’m not a football fan: as I managed to mention in last night’s post about American Horror Story.

Roanoke is looking rather good, I should add: they’ve hideously slaughtered Kathy Bates, twice.

At ANY rate … I was making the point that I thought the first England games was on, tomorrow night: and made the point that — as I had the day off? — I wouldn’t be watching it.

Turns out I got the date wrong.

It seems the games on, tonight.

I still — hopefully — won’t watching it.
A)  I’m not a fan.
B)  I’m at work.
What more can I tell you … ?

~≈§≈~

Talking of productivity?

Which we weren’t, but you can see the drift, I hope.

The World Health Health Organisation has announced it’s adding video game addiction to its list of its list of mental health conditions.

Frankly?   Giving my own personal history, I’m very aware it’s something I need to keep an eye on.

I’m VERY aware getting hooked on something — from alcohol, to video games, to gambling — is not a good thing.

And can have a serious effect on health, and productivity.

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 18-6-2016: Their Finest Hour

Right …

It’s a weekend: and I think I’m only just getting into gear.

Although, obviously, ‘getting into gear’ is a very loose term.

And frankly?

I’m going to have to metaphorically change gear at some point.

Frankly?   I’ve got to go shopping at some point: AND get myself out to work, this afternoon.

Going to be a hell of a long shift …

~≈ß≈~

In other news?

A man called Thomas Mair has been charged with the murder of Jo Cox, MP.

Good!

The quicker we, and her family, can see justice, the better.

And JUST as a matter of personal interest?

I’d like to know the killer’s motivation for this crime: as I’m sure Jo Cox’s family would.

I think the sooner the truth comes out, the better.
