Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 2-11-2025 — Road Runner

2nd November, 2025: Road Runner.

Right … it’s officially official: my nephew was over last night.

Fun was officially had, kebabs — and chicken nuggets — were eaten.

And yes … another video was made.

Feel free to hit the like button: every little helps!

Something odd happened, actually: when Jude was getting dropped off.

We had at least two Amazon vans dropping off deliveries, at the time Jude arrived.

A white one parked over the road: which I knew was an Amazon delivery, as it had the rear doors open, and a rear section filled with Amazon packages.

And a grey van, with Amazon livery, parked next door.

I was assuming one of them had packages for me: I’d ordered a few Christmas presents that Amazon told me would be delivered, yesterday.

Nope.

The deliveries have been rescheduled for today.

What happened?

Beyond what looked like an intense discussion between one of the drivers and the neighbours, or between both drivers?

I don’t know.

But … ?

I have to ask why on Earth my delivery got rescheduled for today, when it could have been on one of the vans parked here yesterday …

And … ?

Yes: you bet I emailed Jeff Bezos … !

The Daily Teaser — 12-8-9: The Battle Of Marathon

That’s an odd one …

Seems I’ve missed a special delivery.

I have to admit, I was out, yesterday: after job searching at the job centre — it looks like I’ve bagged a couple of interviews, by the way — I headed up to town to get some milk.

I got back at around half past One.

And checked my mail, after the plumber had been.

I got back at just after half past One.   Seems the postman turn up at five to two, when I was in.   13·56, according to the card.

When I was in!

He could’ve knocked, is my point.

Which is what gets me, at the moment.

No.

I’m wondering what on EARTH’S been delivered.

With my luck … ?

Well, with my luck, it’ll be something unwanted: a court summons, say, or an arrest warrant.

Something like that.

It couldn’t possibly be a cheque!

The Daily Teaser — 29-3-2014: Keep On Running

You know, I like a good read, now and again.

You wouldn’t think so, would you?

But yes, I like a good read.

I’ve also kept half an eye on an on-going news story: restrictions introduced by Justice Minister, Chris Grayling, on the number of books sent in to those in prison.

I personally can’t help but think that that is the stupidest possibly move.

Not just from a rehabilitation view point.

From the little I know, prison officers rarely have time to take inmates to the equally undermanned prison library.

What’s more … ?   A book being sent in by family is a good way of encouraging prisoner literacy, and occupied: and, I believe out of trouble.

And quite possibly, from ALSO joining a riot.

Let’s call a spade a spade, here.   I think Justice Minister Chris Grayling is being an outright idiot, for promoting these restrictions.
