You know, I’ve seen some strange bits of news, occasionally.

Or, at least, odd.

I don’t think I’ve seen everything: that could be tricky, in one lifetime.

But I’ve seen a few things: that made me either laugh, cry, rage, jump up and down, what have you.

Then … ?

Occasionally, you’ll get the just plain silly.

Like this.

Just so you know?

Engineers at a small ISP have successfully set up an internet connection over six foot of wet string: achieving speeds of some 3.5 megabits per second.

The mind boggles.

At least, mine does.

Mostly where the BBC have turned off the comments on the piece.

Possibly sensible.

The amount of people in rural parts of the UK saying that’s faster than their broadband connection must be big!

Embroidery.

Hmmm … 

You wouldn’t think, it, would you: but England was famed for its embroidery, at one point.

At least, going by the documentary I recorded last night: episode 3 of The Fabric Of Britain.

I’m just slightly sad I missed all of last week’s.   The piece it featured, about the manufacturing of Victorian flock wallpaper, was fascinating to watch.
