OK: I’m definitely a bit tired: those eight hour shifts are long!

If you’ve ever run a Marathon?

It’s possibly comparable.

Frankly?

I usually end up with legs that feel like abused bits of lead piping.

Not nice … !

I take a mild interesting in technology … !

And in in media: I like watching film and TV show.

I’ve always taken a mild interesting in video piracy: they’s been around as long as there’s been some sort of video on-demand.

Personally?

Seeing this piece on the BBC’s news website, about the arrest of eight people who ran various illegal streaming sites?

Only confirms what I’ve believed for a while.

It’s very hard to get rid of video pirates.

I still don’t like Black Friday.

No … Really … !

I don’t think it’s the right thing for folk in the UK to be marking someone else’s holiday — the US holiday of Thanksgiving — at second hand … 

By having a set of sales the day after a holiday we in the UK don’t actually celebrate.

To add insult to injury … ?

I was in Brentwood Hight Street, earlier: paying bills and doing a little shopping, as you do.

When I got offered a whole pamphlet full of Black Friday deals by a shivering Argos employee.

Including a good deal on Playstation consoles.

I had to let her down gently.

I’m not THAT much of a gamer.

And, as I told her … ?

Just a bit insulted by a Black Friday offer in the first place.

Really.

The guy’s work passed me by.

So, right at the moment?

I’m saddened for his friends, fans and family: who are obviously having a hard time in the wake of the man’s death.

But, for myself?

I’m must confess: Leonard Cohen’s death hasn’t affected me …

Can I make a confession, here?

I’m actually writing this post at my local library.

Mostly?

Well, mostly because I wanted to get out of the house.

You know, get some fresh air, possibly some exercise as well.

To get to Warley Hill, and to Brentwood High Street, where the library is, I have to go down Saint James Round: the small Street that connects mine road — Rollason Way — to Warley Hill.

Saint James Road is something of a battleground.

As I and others have long since campaigned against any extra building on the small patch of ground left.

On a personal level?

I believe such building work would seriously impede emergency vehicle access to my road.

I've gone past the area, today.

And there’s a digger clearing the ground in that patch.

I think, despite the protests of residents?

Brentwood Council’s approved plans for that last remaining green space.

And residents will be the worse for it.

That’s THAT sorted … !

I’m job-hunting at the mo.

Although I start a new job on Monday: in Chelmsford.

Which could have gone hideously wrong: if, as things looked like they were going to do, this morning, and I was not going to get help for the first season ticket to work.

Thankfully?

I’ve not got that sorted out: as the Job Centre’s decided to give me a one off grant.

It’s all good!
