Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 8th June, 2026.

8th June, 2026.

Right, then … it’s a Monday …

So I’m off to my weight management class, again.

Hopefully, I’d’ve lost a bit, this week.

Given I’ve gained over the past few weeks.

Here’s hoping!

~≈🦷≈~

Once that’s done?

I’ve got to go home, have lunch …

And then head back for the High Street.

Yep: I’ve an appointment with the hygienists.

I might need to have a chat with them.

Up until now?

I’ve been able to use the trainee hygienists for free: as I’m on Universal Credit.

I was thinking I should change the appointment, though: just to make sure I didn’t need to go up Warley Hill, twice on the same day.

Except that — as it seems my dentists rules seem to have change — I’d be facing a charge if I did that.

Why?

I have no idea!

But … ?

It means future appointments are going to have to be rationed.

The price is affordable: but not one I want to pay more than once a year …

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 8th June, 2025.

8th June, 2025.

I think … I’ve had an evening.

Ot night, at any rate.

Quite why, I don’t know: but I had a mild case of the trots.

I think avoiding that brand of chicken Kyiv could an idea … !

~≈💩≈~

Hopefully that will clear up.

But there’s a weird co-incidence,

I heard a piece of news on BBC Radio 4’s news bulletin, this morning.

Apparently, scientists have developed a new method of improving gut health.

By feeding people pills made from human faeces.

Human poo, in other words.

I’m tempted to say they’re welcome to mine.

But that would be bad taste.

Instead … ?

I’ll wonder how popular that move’s going to be … ?

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 8th June 2024.

8th June, 2024.

Right … Saturday …

It’s a Saturday: which means I’ve missed the big political debate, last night.

In favour of episode two of the latest Star Wars series, The Acolyte.

Lightsabers, Jedi and Wookies, had more appeal.

On the election front?

Rishi Sunak’s still facing flack about not staying for the whole of the D-Day commemorations.

A commemoration that — as it turned out — President Volodymyr Zelensky of the Ukraine, attended.

President Zelensky: president of a country currently being invaded by Russia.

President Zelenshy, a man who’s nation is being invaded, and who you would forgive for not being there … attended a ceremony during his country’s worst patch in recent history.

President Zelensky of the Ukraine is looking a lot better, politically, than the British PM.

And if it wasn’t for the fact he’s busy, I’d suggest the President stand for Parliament!

Actually, on the election front?

It seems the Greens are facing issues: as they’re having to drop candidates who are making anti-semitic social media posts.

I hope they sort that out by the time the manifesto’s published.

I’d like to vote — or not vote — for them: on the basis of that, rather than anti-semitic posts*.

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 8-6-2023 — Universal

8th June, 2023: Universal.

Right … it’s Thursday …

Which means … ?

I’m going to have to get to the high street, at some point.

As I have to re-order my Ozempic medication.

The problem there?

There’s a shortage, you know.

Hopefully … ?

My chemist and GP will be able to sort out something.

~≈🚑≈~

Talking of which … ?

I couldn’t help but notice both the BBC, and ITV, have reported that Wegovy is to be trialled as a weight loss drug.

With the Diabetes UK website emphasising its use as a treatment for Type 2 diabetes, the version I’m living with.

The problem, there, of course?

Is simply that both the rare as rocking horse poo Ozempic, and Wegovy, both have Semaglutide as their active ingredient.

It’s like buying Anadin Ultra, when the chemist has run out of Nurofen.

Both have the same active ingredient, ibuprofen.

The only difference between Anadin Ultra/Nurofen and Ozempic/Wegovy?

Is that the former are made by two different companies.

And the latter, Ozempic/Wegovy*?

Are made by the same company.

Do you get the feeling the NHS is being had?

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 8th June, 2022.

8th June, 2022.

Yes: today’s the day I get a phone call from my physiotherapist … and have a hygienist appointment.

And it’s rainy … or, at least, it’s been raining, and is threatening drizzle: at the very least.

Which means just one thing.

I’m going to be wearing a hat!

~≈Ü≈~

Oh, before I forget … ?

Can we get my nephew’s latest masterpiece a million views?

He’s feeling ambitious … so made a really short video …

If it’s any help?   It’s really short … !

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 8th June, 2021.

8th June, 2021.

Right …

I’ve got another box-set I’m going to trade: and will be heading into Romford to sell it.

Which is all good: it’ll get me out in to the sunshine.

And getting some exercise.

In a part of the world that’s mostly flat.

I love where I live.   But it is at the bottom of a hill …

~≈🏔≈~

Remember, at the end of May, I had a colonoscopy?   One that couldn’t be completed, as the laxative I’d taken, hadn’t been as effective as it could’ve been.

I’m fairly sure I’ve read the instructions wrong, but there you go.

At any rate … ?

I’ve now booked up the second one: needed to clear up the polyps.

That’s in about a week and a half’s time.

The worrying thing … ?

Is the amount of laxative they’ll be sending.

The word ‘yoicks,’ springs to mind!

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 8-6-2019: Muhammad.

8th June, 2019.

Yes: I’ve been jobhunting.

And … ?

The time between interviews is getting longer, I know that.

But, at any rate … ?   I have had some good news: I’ve an interview on Tuesday.

Here’s hoping.

~≈§≈~

Right …

I’m no political reporter.

Just someone who makes a point of voting: just not for the Conservatives, if you’r asking.

At any rate, like any one interested in politics, I’ve had half an eye on the Tory party leadership contest.

I couldn’t help noticing that one contender, Michael Gove … ?

Has admitted taking cocaine, twenty years ago.

Hmmm …

OK, it’s something he regrets.

And, granted, I’m not one to criticise: given my history with alcohol.

But … ?

I hope he doesn’t get named as Tory party leader.

I’d rather not have something with that sort of history in №. 10.

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 8th June, 2018.

8th June, 2018

Oh … yeah … it’s Friday … !

And, yes: I’m looking forward to my next day off, Sunday.

Frankly?   Catching up with sleep will be good, as would … well … all sorts of things.

~≈§≈~

Actually … ?

Not being a mussel would be .

I’ve got Radio 4’s Today program on in the background: as ever.

In amongst the daily updates on Brexit, other stuff about Brexit, and the Cabinet’s feuds — triggered by Brexit — there’s been a report …

That all mussels bought in shops are contaminated by seaborne micro-plastic waste.

That’s …

Well, frankly?   I’ve never really been one for shellfish.

The effect we’re having — on our own diets — is one more reason for me to not try it.

~≈§≈~

Oh …

One more thing …

You’ve realised that I’m not a football fan.   But am a technology watching ex-barman.

One who’s noticed that Amazon have bought the rights to screen various English Premier League football matches from 2019.

I’m THINKING that could have a big impact on the pub trade.

As — if I’ve understood things correctly, and depending on the price structure — all a pub; would need would be a Fire stick, and an Amazon Prime subscription.

Which, from what I could see?   Are a LOT cheaper than the prices Sky and BT charge pubs.

Frankly?

If the hospitality industry can move fast on this — in negotiating those prices — it could save itself a fortune on costs.

And stop pubs getting done from buying fully loaded kodi boxes.

The Brentwood Gazette’s Weekly Teaser — 8-6-2016: World Oceans Day

Sunset at Noronhas Beach
Right then …

I’m actually having a — wait for it — day off!

After having other days for …

For medical reasons!

Well …

An ultrasound scan on my stomach and kidneys: a GP’s appointment, after some recent blood tests.

Oh, and an opticians appointment.

The GP’s was the least worrying, actually: but there you go!

~≈†≈~

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 8-6-2016

Hmmm …

You may or may not no the UK’s holding a referendum, in a couple of week’s from today.

Basically?   The question is whether we in the UK should remain in the EU.

As part of that, the government has been encouraging people to register to vote: whether by posting in their registration, or by doing it online.

By the dealing, last night.

You can practically SEE the problems, can’t you?

The site had huge problems, last night: as many tried to register, at the last minute.

Lord KNOWS what’s going to happen as a result of that.

But that could have been avoided, I think …

The Daily Teaser — 8-6-2015: World Oceans Day.

Oh … but I’ve got a day off … !

That’s a good thing.

The reason I’m up, comparatively early?   Is that I’ve got a doctor’s appointment, this morning.

Oh, nothing drastic!   I’ve an under-active thyroid: which I’m on medication for.   The appointment … ?

Is to follow up on the blood tests I recently had.

Here’s hoping they show nothing TOO serious happening … !
