Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 30th January 2026.

30th January, 2026: Gosh!

It’s officially official: I’ve had today’s dose of Mounjaro, the drug that helps me lose weight, and control my diabetes.

And … ?

I think it’s working better than it has for the past few weeks: I seem to be getting the jitters it used to provide.

Heigh … ho … !

The situation with X/Twitter is getting ridiculous.

I’ve signed up for the Basic Premium service: in the belief it will let me access support from a human customer services agent.

Or, at least, message the @Premium account with a direct message.

Nope!

Despite having an active account …

I’m told I have to get Verified to message them.

I’m going to paraphrase John Lyndon, here: I get the feeling I’ve been cheated …

Just as a brief note … ?

It seems Microsoft has issues: as updates to Windows 11 have been preventing  PCs — commercial ones in particular — to not shutdown when switched off.

And machines that have had a update applied to prevent this, are having issues starting up.

Normally?

I’d be telling people to get a Mac: except I know current versions of the operating system seem to be having issues.

So that’s possibly some to be cautious about.

Given all that … ?

I’m going to make a guess: a lot of companies will be buying Chromebooks …

Exit Humanity: Hmmmm …

16th Sept, 2012

And I’m thinking, here, that I’m serious.

I mean Hmmmm .

And, yes, I am very well aware you’re giving me a funny look, here.

But I’ve just seen Exit Humanity, and — as of here and now — I’m still wondering on what on Earth to make of it.

Hmmm …

I’ve just seen the time: tell you what.

Let’s carry this on in the morning, shall we … ?

19th Sept, 2012

He says, picking up the  thread three days later.

It’s been one of those few days: but let’s leave that right there, shall we?   I’ve had enough of a whinge, this morning.

But, at ANY rate … ?

At ANY rate, you’ve possibly worked out that I spent Sunday night with a film.

And the film in question … ?   Was the 2011 release, Exit Humanity.

Set not long after the American Civil War, and narrated by Brian Cox, Exit Humanity sees Mark Gibson as Edward Young: a man returning home from the hunt to find his wife killed by the hordes of the walking dead, and his son vanished.

Of course, from there … ?

From there is where things go seriously down hill.

~~~~~
Now, I’ve got to admit, I quietly enjoyed Exit Humanity, although it’s possibly a touch on the slow side.
It’s probably not going to be for you, if you’re something of a Gore-Fan.
But Exit Humanity is a quietly thoughtful zombie film: and both a beautifully shot and narrated one, with some rather atmospheric animation to glue things together.
If you’ve a couple of hours spare … ?
Exit Humanity could be an interesting watch …
Pontypool: Now, that’s what I CALL a movie … !
*Spoilers*
(Before you go on to the main part of this post — at the end, I give away the film’s central plot device — let me point out I’ve given Pontypool ★★★★, the most I tend to hand out. I’m a touch less conservative about these things than fellow Movie maven, Kevin D, but still STILL believe Pontypool is worth my highest rating, despite wanting to initially give it ★★★½☆. Either way, I wrote this little intro to tell you what I thought, just in case you DIDN’T want to spoil things for yourself.)
You know, I’m thinking, right now, that my day had something of an awkward start to it, it really did.
After all, it’s not THAT often that your bed collapses on you.
Or, at least, collapses with you on it, I should say.
Which is what happen to me, this morning.
Hopefully, if all goes well, I’ll be able to find a replacement, somewhere, though.
I’ll let you know.
Suffice to say that, for the moment … ? I’ve had to dismantle the old one: as a couple of metal crossbars that held it together had well and truly bent.
And aren’t going to be repaired with the help of a blacksmith: not easy to find, even with the big wide Essex countryside being only a few steps away.
