Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 22-10-2025 — Bankrobber

22nd October, 2025: Bankrobber.

Right … it’s official Wednesday morning … !

And, frankly?

I’m hoping the phone call I made — to a local food bank — will do any good.

Just as much as I’m hoping the application I put in, yesterday — for one of Southend Council’s prepaid debit cards — will go through.

The latter’s going to take a few weeks, I know that.

The food bank … ?

Is a different matter.

I’ll admit it: I’m overweight!

You’d possibly worked that out.

So, as a result of being overweight, I’m on a weight management course: so I can monitor how I’m doing.

And I’m on Mounjaro: partly to combat my type two diabetes, but also because the medication’s very effective at helping you lose weight.

I’ve also been on Ozempic/Wegovy and Trulicity.

Trulicity doesn’t seem as the other two named drugs: but that’s possibly a side issue.

The reason I mention this?

Is that I’ve seen the news that Novo Nordisk — the makers of Ozempic — have recently seen several members of their board hand in their resignations.

I don’t know what effects that will have.

I’m just hoping that won’t include supplies of both Ozempic and Mounjaro as a knock-on effect.

Here’s hoping …

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 22-10-2024 — Crisis

22nd October, 2024: Crisis.

Right then …

It’s officially Tuesday: not Wednesday, as I said in the introduction!

One of these days, I’ll get the hang of the calendar, I really will.

At any rate … ?

I found out I lost weight, yesterday: so I’m pleased.

Oh …

John Cooper Clarke — the poet — has just been on the Today programme.

Apparently, and in a first of its kind move, he’s playing arena gigs: to celebrate World Poetry Day.

I think that means we can have a poem!

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 22nd October 2023.

22nd October, 2023.

Right … it’s Sunday …

Which means I’d normally be having an early night: so I can get up early, tomorrow, for my weight management course.

But?   Tomorrow’s has been cancelled: staff shortages, unfortunately.

Heigh-ho: it means I can have a late night.

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 22nd October 2022.

22nd October, 2022.

Yes: it’s officially the case … that I’ve started work on this post good and early.

Because I’m up early: obviously.

Basically?

I’ve got to go to Romford.

Not because I’m selling something at their branch of CeX … but because that’s where I’m having my COVID booster.

I know where I’m going, I’ve topped up my Oyster card …

I’m just hoping it doesn’t rain.

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 22nd October, 2021.

22nd October, 2021.

Right …

I’ve officially got a busy day.

It’s payday: so I have to be in town.

I have an interview in the afternoon: in Romford!

I’m expecting a pest controller from my landlord: at some point this morning.

Quite when, I don’t know.

Oh …

And I have to edit some videos … !

Oy … vey … !

~≈£≈~

I write this at 8:47.

Thankfully, the pest controller’s in, and laying some bait.

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser —  22-10-2020: Timothy Leary

22nd October, 2020.

I hate earworms, I really do!

Or, at least, sometimes, I do!

Sometimes, they’re not too bad.   And occasionally?

They’re just plain odd!

Today’s … ?   Is mildly odd.

Yep: the Singing Nun’s turned up!

~≈😕≈~

Extending the theme?

It seems Pope Francis has expressed support for civil unions.

Civil unions, I should add, rather than equal marriage.

Granted, that’s not exactly the whole nine yards … but … ?

But, coming from a Pope, any Pope, the man in charge of a city state, and an organisation — Vatican City, and the Curia — that’s known to be … mildly conservative to say the least?

That’s a left wing revolution in the making.

Good for him!

~≈🙂≈~

And finally, on a personal level?

The interview, yesterday, didn’t work out.

Oh, the job sounded fine, and the interviewer, keen to both talk to me, and, potentially, hire me …

Unfortunately, the office was just too far: too bus rides away!

That’s …

Well … disappointing …

~≈😞≈~

As a final, final thought?

I managed to finish my video review of Watchman, episode 5.

Just so you know!

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 22-10-2019: International Stuttering Awareness Day

22nd October, 2019.

Yes: it’s nice out.

It least … it’s not raining … and not predicted to rain.

Which means the work to the Job Centre for my regular fortnightly meeting involves not getting … wet.

The relief is incredible.

On a slightly less sarcastic note?

I’m going to have to ask about the YouTube channel.   If it ever does start earning money, I’m going to have to have half an idea about how it affects any benefits I’m on.

Oy vey …

Nik Nak’s Daily teaser — 22nd October, 2018

22nd October, 2018.

Yes, it’s official: if you watch that video, you’re looking at the face of late night blogging.

After last night’s episode of Dr Who?

I finished writing the post at one in the morning.

Hopefully?

That’s not reflected in the post’s grammar.

At ANY rate … ?

With much of a strong opening, closing, writing, acting … ?

With THAT much of a take on social realism?

Rosa is possibly new Dr Who’s best episode …

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 22nd October, 2017

Bleugh …

I’m up, early.

Again.

The pleasures of a working world, eh … ?

Actually, that’s something …

Yesterday, and today … ?

Yesterday and today, the rail replacement bus is back.

Just for the weekend, thankfully.

But still, long enough to be annoying!

I have to admit, the actual bus ride is nice.

But … ?

The train’s quicker!

There’s less traffic!

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 22-10-2016: The World According to Ussher

You know, I’ve done dafter things.

Really.

That things I’m not going to talk about, here, but daft, nonetheless.

One of the (possibly) less daft things?

Is getting up at four in the morning to write a blog post.

But there you go.

That’s what happens when you have to be at work at eight: you have to be up early, to catch the train … !
