Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 18-1-2026 — DeSalvo

18th January, 2026: DeSalvo.

I think I’m on safe territory, here.

In saying that the 47th President of the United States of America is a screaming twat.

If you’ll pardon my language!

I’ll also say that the UK’s Prime Minister, Sir Keir Starmer, may not be helping.

The President’s demands — that the US take over Greenland — are still on-going: with the US, under the President’s orders, due to impose tariffs from February.

Something affected countries have criticised as unacceptable.

Understandably.

Additionally?

The Prime Minister tells us the allies will be “pursuing this directly, with the administration”.

Which is possibly where things fall apart.

I believe whatever Britain’s representatives say to the current US administration is going to get ignored …

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 18th January 2024.

18th January, 2024.

Right …

It’s officially Thursday.

And … ?

I’m waiting for the postman.

I put in for another pre-paid debit card from the Essential Living Fund, at the start of January.

The sooner that turns up?

The happier I’ll be.

I like the idea of having milk in my tea!

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 18-1-2023 — Kevin Costner.

18th January, 2023: Kevin Costner.

It’s official: I’m typing this post one handedly.

And, frankly?

I’m wondering regular reader — and dystonia campaigner — Debbi Mack, manages!

The reason I’m typing with one hand?

Is simply that I’m holding my landline phone with the other: trying to get through to the Department of Work and Pension’s Warm Home Discount Scheme phone line.

On 0800 107 8002, if you’re curious!

It’s increasingly frustrating!

The minute the letter they’re talking about comes through?

Or someone picks up the phone?

The happier I’ll be!

~≈☏≈~

Ha!

I JUST got through to them: after twenty minutes waiting on the phone!

And?

It turns out I don’t qualify: despite getting the benefit, last year.

No one in the building does: low income or not.

Apparently, it ties into how recently the block was built: it’s too energy efficient, and small, to enable us to claim.

I’m …

Well, angry doesn’t start.

‘Deeply offended’ covers it.

I know the Government is trying yo keep costs doen

But giving a benefit one year, in 2021/22, and not giving it the next?

Strikes me as callous, offensive … and deeply hypocritical*.

One thing I am happy about … ?

You’re possibly aware that my nephew, Jude, has a YouTube channel.

And that his confidence has improved enough to film himself.

OK: he’s very shy, bless him.

But that IS his first piece to camera.

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 18th January, 2022.

18th January, 2022.

I think we can say this: my nephew is now a YouTuber.

He’d talked it over with Mummy, on Sunday: we’ve managed to set him up a supervised channel as part of my group of channels, last night.

He can transfer the videos, when he hits thirteen and can create his own channel.

At any rate … ?

Here’s Jude’s first video: his channel’s here, and called JPDecember.

From what we discussed, last night … ?

I know he’s planning to try and make videos about his favourite games: and spent some time, last night, seeing if he could save some game footage to a USB stick I’d given him.

Hopefully?

We’ll be able to turn that into something watchable.

Feel free to subscribe: I’m sure you’ll find he’s made something you’ll like.

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 18th January, 2021.

18th January, 2021.

Right … Things are truly occurring …

Although, I suspect, not to me!

I’m expecting a comparatively quiet day …

Although, saying that … ?

I’ve just put the phone down on on someone claiming to be from BT Openreach, phoning from 01953 887 975,  telling me there’s a problem with my router.

This … ?   At 8:20 … !

I put the phone down …

I’ll given them credit for persistence.

But not for interrupting me …

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 8-1-2019: Bowie

8th January, 2019.

Yes: I’m off for a haircut, todayª.

Assuming the job centre’s put money …

Yes: they’ve put money in the bank.

I’ll be heading for a haircut, today …

And an interview, tomorrow.

Cheers for the good wishes, everyone: I think I’m going to need them.

I’m a tech watcher … or possibly fan …

At any rate, I keep an eye on the tech news.

And couldn’t help but notice that Samsung have announced a version of iTunes on their smart TVs.

At least … a version that lets you rent and buy movies from the store, and stream things to the TV, via the iTunes Store: or from an Apple device, via AirPlay.

Its comparable to the company making Apple Music available to users of Android.

That’s … nice to see: although I think Apple missed a trick in not doing its own Apple TV set.

It also get’s me wondering what their long term plans are for The Apple TV box they now sell.

I’d rather it kept working for as long as possible.

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 18th January, 2018

Right, that’s that done with!

I’ve now, officially, had my electrical safety check done.

The electrician — with possibly the biggest beard I’ve seen — came in ten: and had finished by about eleven.

And, along with the test?

Installed another new smoke detector, and a new bathroom light: apparently, the one I had?

Wasn’t water proof.

Either way?

That’s that done for another five years …

~≈§≈~

On other fronts?

The past couple of years, I’ve been receiving a certain amount of Universal Credit.

Which is useful, as it helps pay towards the rent.

It’s also variable: if you get more pay in a given month, you get less Universal Credit.

It’s now — as a result of the surge in pay over Christmas — been cancelled.

Which is a bit of a git.

As it means I know have to re-apply, if I want to get the benefit!

Life’s a gas.   Possibly one that smells of rotten eggs …

The Daily Teaser — 18-1-2016

Amazing …

It’s Monday …

AND ITS STILL NOT SNOWED … !

Which I, personally, am grateful for: although QUITE what my five-year-old, Jude, would be telling you at the moment, I don’t know.

Probably that it’s a stinky poo-head, if I know him!

At any rate, it’s possibly good news: it means there’s less chance of problems with public transport.

Tonight … is the official Works Christmas do: bowling in Romford, so you know.

Frankly … ?

I’m looking forward to the night out …
