Right Said Fred and Hole in the Ground were a hell of a lot of fun.
There were film appearances, TV appearances, the most Jackanory appearances by any one given performer.
Personally? I remember seeing him as Tom Cambell in Daleks’ Invasion Earth 2150 A.D, the second Dr Who movie.
I think the man’s biggest legacy? Was providing the narration — and voicing every single character — in The Wombles.
The show was the only one at the time that talked about recycling stuff: at a time when no other show — with the possible exception of Blue Peter — did so.
Legacy doesn’t even start …

Yesterday … ?
I was up early: I had a Zoom meeting to attend, at ten, and wanted to make sure I’d done my usual stuff done, first.
I didn’t notice the yelling from up the road: at around 7:20ish.
There’s always someone having an argument, around here!
I also didn’t consciously notice the emergency ambulance, trauma team, and half a dozen police cars, turning up
Or know about them, until;
Someone asked what was happening on my street’s Facebook group.
At least three people contacted me — through Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp — to ask if I was ok, and what on Earth was happening!
Which is me all over!
At any rate? A resident of Torville Court, the block next to mine, had been attacked: and seriously injured.
According to the Essex Live reports? A 28 year old man had been arrested on charges of Actual Bodily Harm, and for assaulting one of the ambulance staff.
From other things I’ve been told? And if the victim is who I think it is? (Which seems likely, from descriptions I’ve been given.)
The victim is said to have all sorts of dodgy dealings.
It means I can complain about the sunshine, AND the lack of rain.
After complaining, a few days ago, about a distinct lack of rain.
Don’t you just love it, when I get contradictory!

One of my favourite bands, when I was younger?
Were American blues/rockers, ZZTop.
I’d never seen them live — I’m told they were fantastic — but know they did some fantastic albums, singles and videos.
You’ve possibly noticed I’m saying were, and did.
Sadly, bassist Dusty Hill, died last night: at the age of 72.
He’ll be missed: by legions of fans, by lovers of Texas Boogie … and by anyone that appreciated the fact ZZTop were that rarest of things: a band that survived, with the same lineup, for fifty-one years.
I do know I went into town, yesterday: to follow up on the O2 situation.
And, at least, managed to talk an escalation manager.
Who’s advised that there’s not much they can do until the 31st — Friday, in other words* — when the system is due to be updated.
Frankly? 130 Kings Road’s still being gutted, the two extra floors haven’t even started, there’s no sign of anything resembling a phone mast … so I’m assuming we’re going to get a pigs dinner of a weekend.

On other fronts … ?
I don’t know what happened, there …
But we’ve just had a power cut: a very short one.
Why?
I don’t know, I know it’s hit the people in Railway Square, around the corner from me.
Frankly, I’m hoping it’s a brief glitch, somewhere.
