Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 26-6-2026 — Ashura

26th June, 2026: Ashura.

OK … when I say “massive amount of drugs” in that opening video?

I’m talking about prescribed medications: including a dose of Mounjaro!

There are times when I really should phrase things differently!

~≈💊≈~

At any rate?

Today looks like it’s going to be another hot day.

Frankly?

I think I’m going to need a lot of cold water!

~≈💧≈~

As a last thought … ?

I’ve been binge watching Slow Horses, over the past few days.

And … ?

I’m enjoying it.

And thinking several things.

Including this: that Sophie Okonedo’s character puts me in mind of George Smiley.

Why … ?

I couldn’t tell you: except she plays Ingrid Tearney, the (by now ex) head of MI5 in a very restrained way.

It’s something to watch, I know that!

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 26-6-2025 — Harry Potter (Ten Questions)

26th June, 2025: Harry Potter.

Right … it’s Thursday.

And … ?

I’ve got a couple of t-shirts on the way.

Printed ones, with the covers from the old Traveller games, on them.

I’m not sure I’ve picked the right colour for the shirts.

But?

At least they’re on route: and can (hopefully) be used for the next set of videos.

~≈🚀≈~

The one thing that has disappointed me?

Is NOT finding the 1980 cover of Runequest’s 2nd edition, online.

At least, not finding a large enough, good quality copy.

I’d love to have that on a t-shirt: although I realise the woman on the cover isn’t exactly practically dressed.

That armour’s going to chafe!

~≈👙≈~

There’s plans in the House of Commons.

Or — more accurately — the Government is planning to tighten various benefits: including Universal Credit, and Personal Independence Payment, the two I’m claiming.

I really don’t like the idea: anything that threatens the incomes of I and so many others?

Isn’t a good thing.

So … ?

I’m grateful the Government’s negotiating with its own rebel backbenchers: in order to ease the changes.

We’ll have to see how that vote goes: but … ?

Well played, them!

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 26th June, 2024.

26th June, 2024.

It’s official: yesterday was Tuesday, and today is Wednesday!

And … ?

I’ve managed to have a phone appointment with my GP.

We’ve managed to sort out a few things.

Seemingly?

The low blood pressure is partly due to the diabetes: but being amplified by the heat.

Hence the blurred vision and dizzy spells.

They’ve seriously stressed keeping hydrated: especially in this hot spell.

They’ve also confirmed a mental health referral has been made: but could take until 2025 to turn up.

It’s important, rather than urgent: so I’m not too concerned.

But, obviously?   And as far as I’m concerned?   The sooner the better.

As an additional point … ?

I’ve ALSO been prescribed Mounjaro: as a replacement for the Ozempic I’m using.

Hopefully?

There’s plenty of this stuff!

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 26th June, 2023.

26th June.

Right … I’m up early, again.

Yes: it’s Monday, again.

Which means I’m off to my usual weight management class.

Hopefully, I’ll’ve lost a few pounds.

~≈¥≈~

Did I mention a new comic shop’s opened in Brentwood?

A new comic shop — Comic Book Heroes Villains — has opened in Brentwood.

I even managed to get a trade in.

I’m not totally sure I got the best deal: even though I ended up walking away with a vintage Target Dr Who book.

Underworld, if you’re interested.

At any rate?

I’m not totally convinced I got the best deal.

Had I been less rushed, I’d’ve possibly done more research into what prices I could’ve — or possibly should’ve — got.

And?

Something that hampered me, there, was simply the fact Comic Book Heroes Villains doesn’t have it’s own website.

Oh, they’ve got a Facebook page: and an Instagram account.

But nothing on the line’s of CeX’s uk.webuy.com site: where you can look up the price offered on goods you want to sell to the company.

Yes: I realise that’s a big ask for a company that only has two shops.

Running such a site costs possibly more money, time and effort, than a small company has.

But … ?

It’s something I know I would’ve appreciated seeing.

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 26-5-2023 — Orwell.

26th June, 2023: Orwell.

Right … it’s officially the day after I’ve had a haircut.

OK: that makes money tight.

But … ?

It does leave me feeling a little less sweaty.

It’s possibly well timed.

We’re due to be warm, today.

Now …

If I can leave you with my most recent review, we’ll move on …

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 26th June, 2022.

26th June, 2022.

Yes: I’ve had a late night, last night.

I was up, reviewing the first episode of Star Trek Picard’s second series.

It has to be said, The Star Gazer is an impressive first episode.

Especially when the villain turns up.

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 26th June, 2021

26th June, 2021.

Yes: it’s official: stuff is occurring!

For one thing … ?

I got a visit, yesterday: from  our new — albeit temporary — Housing officer.

They’re the officials from a social landlord who deal with tenants at ground level.

The officer?   Was handing out the new front door keys to those who’d not got the two required.   She knocked on my door to check if I needed one: and to see if there were any other issues …

Oh, boy … !

I THINK I managed to cover everything.
  1. Rats.
  2. Mailboxes
  3. The key for the gas area.
  4. And a missing tenant: the chap in Number 3’s not been there for some time.
Hopefully … ?

Something can get done about these things.

Although I have to admit … I forgot to mention the tradesman’s button.

~≈†≈~

If you’re in the UK … ?

You’re possibly aware of the UK’S Health Secretary, Matt Hancock.

He’s the (ahem!) happily married government minister in change of the NHS, and of managing the UK’s response to the COIVD 19 pandemic.

That’s him in the video: kissing his secretary.

After looking outside his office door, to make sure no-one’s coming.

What makes me laugh … ?

Is simply the fact that the BBC say he’s been caught, breeching social distancing rules.

~≈†≈~

Before I forget?

It rained, last night.

And when I say rain … ?

I mean a monsoon … !

Friday, 26 June 2020

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 26th June, 2020.

26th June, 2020.

It’s got to be said, when I woke up, this morning … ?

It was raining.

Nice, cool, chilled, rain: that made the air a lot more bearable than it’s been for the past couple of days.

Guess what … ?

As I write … it’s stopped … !

That’s a mixed set of blessings.

It’ll be dry when I go out …

But, lord, we need that rain … !

~≈Ç≈~

Oh, just as a quick thought … ?

I thoroughly enjoyed the recent. movie version of Wonder Woman, a couple of years ago.

The sequel, Wonder Woman 1984, has been held up by Lockdown … but certainly looks equally watchable.

I do know more publicity shots have been released.

It has to be said: Gal Gadot’s going to get some odd fan-mail!

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 26-6-2019: William 4th.

26th June, 2019

It’s true: I’m feeling mildly cynical.

Blame my age, maybe!

At any rate, the most exciting thing that’s happened since I’ve got up … ?

Is that Pages, Keynote and Numbers have been updated.

And you can now do all sorts of weird and wonderful things with the fonts: as Apple have added some font effects.

Frankly?

That looks …

Well, they’ll make the Teaser videos look interesting.

And some very subdued ones may — may — make my CV look eye-catching.

We’ll see.

~≈§≈~

Just as a quick, and minor, piece of news … ?

Did you ever hear about the Raspberry Pi, the British made, single board computer: that’s started life as an educational tool?

Well, the fourth version’s been released: which will possibly add to the machine’s position as the UK’s best selling computer.

There’s something else.

One has been used to hack NASA’s Jet Propulsion Lab.

That … ?

Is what I call advertising … !

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 26th June, 2018

26th June, 2018.

Oh, my word, I’ve got last night’s episode of I’m Sorry I Haven’t A Clue.

And it has to be said, Caroline Quentin’s doing rather well for a first timer!

And as for what Samantha’s doing … !

Well … !

~≈§≈~

Can I make a (quick) confession?   And it’s not that often I talk about work.

I took a call on Sunday: for someone seeking temporary accommodation in Kensington and Chelsea, one of the clients my company takes out of hours calls for.

The man’s flat had burned down.

Two others in the building been affected by fire.

And police and the fire brigade were in attendance.

The block, I should should, was in a street called Appleford Road.

I though to myself, at the time?   That that would get a mention in the news.

Post Grenfell, a fire in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea would.

It did.

Going by this piece, the fire’s been noted by the BBC: was in Appleford Road, in Ladbroke Grove, in Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.

Well, the fire had been noted …

As had the fact that the police had — in one flat — found a body.

What got me immediately email work to key them know they might want to pass details of the call, and the recording of the call, to the police?

Was that the chap who phoned it in, said they flats had ‘exploded’ …

And that there were rumours petrol was involved.

Petrol.

As far as I know … ?   Petrol’s never involved with fires, accidentally.

I have a feeling that fire was started deliberately.

And in order to hide evidence …

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 26-6-2017

I’m yawning, again!

And this time?

It’s for a serious reason.

Actually, now it isn’t.

It’s actually where I got home from work at 21:30pm.

Then went on to watch this week’s episode of Dr Who.

Can I be frank?

Episode 12, The Doctor Falls?

Had better be good.

As Episode 11, World Enough and Time?

Was bloody fantastic!

~≈†≈~

In other news?

In other news, my other favourite show — I’m Sorry, I Haven’t a Clue — is back on, this week.

Today: on Radio 4, at 18:30.

If you’ve not heard it?

You’ve missed the best show that never made it to TV!
