Oh, well, that’s worked …
Did I tell you that I have a TV that’s capable of recording a show to a USB flash memory stick?
Handy that.
Especially when you consider I can then convert the recordings to a format playable on either Android or iOS devices.
Basically, I can use
vlc to convert those recordings into a form that I can THEN rip with Handbrake.
The problem I’ve come across, recently? Is that, when ripped, recordings from two of Britain’s commercial terrestrial stations — Channel 4 and Channel 5 — come complete with the descriptive audio for the blind.
As you may or may not know, I’m not blind. So find that … inconvenient.
Until I realised, last night, that I should be kicking myself.
As it’s something I can filter out at the ripping stage: by picking the appropriate audio options with
Handbrake.
