And the day after I did the month’s shopping.

I forget gravy.

And sausages.

There’s probably other stuff, as well.

All that means heading back to Sainsbury’s, again.

I had a comment on this Teaser post.

One that discussed the idea the US president was a Russian agent: and trying to sell a book about it.

The president’s a lot of things.

Including an idiot.

And possibly an agent for Putin.

But … ?

I felt the commenter was only interested in selling their book: rather than any kind of conversation about the idea.

I pressed ‘Delete’ …

24th March, 2024: King James.

It’s now, officially, Sunday.

The day after I caught a couple of episodes of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters.

Which were fun.

One thing that did throw me?

Was simply the fact it’s set in modern-day Tokyo … a modern-day Tokyo covered in Godzilla evacuation posters.

OK, granted: I know the series is set in a version of the world where wandering monsters have a habit of doing a lot of damage, and that such a thing would be everywhere, in the real world.

But it was slightly odd … !

Shopping, more bills, possibly a haircut … 

No, forget the haircut, I don’t know that I can afford it.

But … shopping, my nephew, more bills, a weight loss meeting.

And filling in my surgery’s online eConsult form at Eight.

I missed another appointment.

OK, I’ve booked up the nearest available alternative: and made sure they know to phone in the afternoon!

But using the online form could get me one quicker.

Right … 

Yesterday?   Went well enough: rushed, but well.

Held up, in part, by my phone.

I was queuing up in the post office, getting ready to pay my bills.

And, when I got to the front of the queue?

Had to go to back back, as the calendar app on my phone — the app where I was storing the amount I need to pay — decided to play up.

It turns out it was something to do with the way Android phones connect* to the web: and something I could only remedy by downloading a couple of updates when I got home.

As my phone was refusing to connect in the High Street?   I couldn’t exactly do the update in town!

At any rate … ?

The bills are paid, the updates done … 

And now … ?   I have to rush, as I have a phone appointment with a physio-therapist: between nine and ten!

Heigh-ho!

It’s officially the case: since last night, the UK is in lockdown, because of the Corona virus.

We can’t go out: unless we’re going shopping, taking exercise, getting medication or travelling to essential work.

Or visit family members, if they don’t live with us.

I can understand it.

I can appreciate it.

I can … 

No, scrub that: I was going to say ‘I can approve of it.’

I don’t.

In one sense, it’s the sort of behaviour a fascist government would love.

And a right wing love to order in normal circumstances.

These aren’t normal, by a long shot.

Like I say, I can understand why it’s being done.

That does not mean I have to like it, or the potential precedent it sets.

You really do have to wonder about the human mind, sometimes.

I woke up this morning, yawning my head off, scratching my ankles, muttering about the pain in my lower back … 

And with the Associate’s Helicopter, Helicopter — or, at least, those two words — set to repeat themselves until I hit you with the tune.

If any neuroscientist out there have ANY idea what’s happening … ?

I’d love to know … !

The Revoke Article 50 petition?

The Revoke Article 50 petition, that can’t, technically be debated by Parliament?

Until the closing date in August, and IF it reaches 100, 000 signatures?

That one … ?

It’s at 4.8 million signatures … 

OK, it’s possibly going to get ignored … 

But if it gets to OVER seventeen million signatures … ?

That would be lovely!

Have a lot at the date, there, would you … ?

2018, right?

That’s the year, yeah?

Well … 

Yeah … WH Smiths, the stationers and newsagent — at least the Brentwood branch — seem on the ball.

I was there, yesterday: as the Brentwood branch is home to Brentwood’s main post office, where I pay most of my bills.

I couldn’t help but notice the huge display of security software: as it was by the main door … 

I ALSO couldn’t help but notice the stickers on those boxes … the one that says ‘2017 Ready.’ 

2017.

I hate to sound picky, but the impression I’ve always had is that — with security software in particular — having the most recent version is important: it’ll catch more nasties, that way.

Selling something that seems to be last year’s model … ?

Seems a little off the ball …
