Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 1st September 2025.

1st September, 2025.

Right … it’s Monday morning.

And I’m officially up early.

My weight management meeting is today: and?

Hopefully, I’d’ve lost some weight.

Did I mention I’ve been watching Alien: Earth?   But not planning to review it?

I’ve been watching Alien: Earth.

And not planning to review it.

It’s worth watching, I think.

But the eyeball monster is a little unnerving … !

Don’t watch that video if you’re not keen on gruesome … !

Dune: Part Two — The Review

4th July, 2024: an announcement!

Finally … I have an evening, free!

One where I can watch a movie!

Frankly?

I’m looking forward to seeing Dune: Part Two, tonight.

Hopefully?

I’ll have my review up by tomorrow: or by Saturday, at the latest.

Dune: Part Two is a long film, after all!

Spider-Man: No Way Home — A Review

13th June, 2022.

Right, I’ve a confession to make.

When I recorded that intro video, and started writing this post … ?

I had no idea what I was going to watch.

I had a couple of films in mind: but settled on nothing.

Until I looked over what I had in my collection.

You can possibly tell what I went for, can’t you?

Yes: I watched Spider-Man: No Way Home.

I’ve seen a very impressive film.

I’m going to tell you more, tomorrow night.

Dune (2021) — A Review

29th October, 2021.

Right …

It’s getting near to bedtime.

At least … it is: for me.

I have to get up in the morning to writ tomorrow’s Teaser post.

But … ?

I want to make a confession.

I’ve seen a movie, tonight: Denis Villeneuve’s 2021 version of Frank Herbert’s Dune.

Or, at least, the first half of the novel.

I’ve just seen something that’s both true to it’s source material — something Hollywood’s bad at — and absolutely superb.

Really!

Right now?   I’m going to hit the sack … and tell you more in the morning!

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 1st September, 2020

1st September, 2020.

Right …

I’ve officially got another phone meeting, today: with my Shaw Trust case worker.

The people running the Work and Health programme for the Job Centre, in other words.

Given the funding situation?

I think I’m going to want a word …

One thing I do know … ?

Is that — apparently — the NHS have started a programme for those of us with type two diabetes.

It’s a series of soups and shakes designed to help those of us who have it — and who are overweight — lose weight: and hopefully put the condition into remission.

It sound similar to something I tried in my early twenties.

It worked, then.

But I’m very aware that it would be a lot more difficult, now.

I’ve some thirty years worth of bad habits built up, since then.

We’d have to see what happens.

Ever heard of Mr Sin … ?

The character was a robot in Dr Who story, The Talons of Weng Chiang: and was a robot … with the brains of a pig.

It turns out science is imitating art, again.

Tesla boss, Elon Musk is developing what he calls his Neuralink: a brain-computer interface.

Personally, I’m thinking he’s been inspired by something similar in the Culture novels of Iain M. Banks.

The reason I mention Mr Sin … ?

Is that it seems Elon’s used a pig: as an experimental subject for one of his Neuralink chips.

Apparently the pig’s called Gertrude.

Rather than Mrs Sin …

Spiderman: Far from Home — A Review

16th November, 2019.

Right …

Have you ever been nervous about a job interview?

I’ve got one on Monday afternoon: and I’m not nervous … yet.

I am a little intimidated by the amount of possible reading up I have to do: ands by the amount of technology I’d be selling.

It’s something of a different realm … !

~≈†≈~

At any rate … ?

It’s a Saturday: where I’ve had little to do … bar catch something on TV.

Even with this year’s Children in Need over?   There’s still little on that I wanted to watch.

Frankly?

I — metaphorically — grabbed a film.

Yep: you’re right.
